As the story progresses we get to truly see who Grace is away from her awful ex. As she travels to Heartcross we get to find out more about her past as well as see what her friendships are like through her childhood best friends Felicity, Allie and Isla.
Of course the setting is always a big draw in the Love Heart Lane books and, getting to explore inside the walls of Heartcross Castle was great fun. Christie has let her imagination run wild in the novel and has added all the fun quirks and secrets you would wish for in a Scottish castle. When I read things like this, it reminds me of the aspect of writing which most appeals to me, being able to create the world as you wish it existed, just because it makes you and your readers happy. This is what true escapism is, and escapist reading is sometimes just what we all need. When Christie isn't writing she enjoys playing the piano, is a keen gardener and loves to paint and upcycle furniture. Grace Power left home at 16 after an argument with her grandfather. To find the grass is not always greener. She spent a long time and the formative years, of her three boys, under the physical and emotional control of her partner. Until one day a letter from the solicitor comes to tell her her grandfather has passed away and she has inherited Heartcross Castle. Will Grace be able to return after so many years? Can she break the mould to be Grace Power once again? I found myself on a roll with crime books but couldn't resist requesting an advanced copy of the latest in Christie's wonderful Love Heart Lane series. Grace is a domestic violence survivor who hasn’t been home to her family in over a decade. She has three sons and they’re her whole life. Everything she does is to give them the best chance at the best life possible.Infective endocarditis is a bacterial or fungal infection of the heart and can include but is not limited to the cardiac valves. These vegetative growths can be acute or chronic and are dangerous because of the potential embolization risk if they were to fragment. From the opening scenes where we learn just what situation Grace is in and why she desperately needs to escape it, to her arrival in Scotland, I couldn't get enough of this latest book. Devastated to have got it so wrong, Andrew will do anything to make it up to her – but is she willing to listen?
If you are looking for a way to express your emotions, especially feelings of deep pain and sadness, then a bleeding heart tattoo would appeal to you. Christie Barlow has already created so many wonderful characters, and it was lovely to revisit a number of them as they formed part of Grace’s friendship group. That said, the introduction of Hector, Heartcross Castle’s groundskeeper, was a very special element. I could immediately picture him pottering around the gardens. Grace Power is a fabulous lead, she epitomises kindness despite having endured some terrible treatment at the hands of someone who should have shown her nothing but love. Her three sons are her world, and she strives to create a safe and steady home for them all.I mean, I was hooked immediately with 'castle' in the title! And I really wasn't let down, what a fantastic story. Grace, and her adorable 3 boys, Andrew, Hector and (almost) the whole cast from previous novels had me gulping this one down. Such a solid storyline, yes it was predictable - did I care? Hardly. Really likeable characters throughout and definitely one of my favourites from the series to date.

This is book 7 and it keeps getting better and better, I do think this one may be my favourite so far.Running away from home and Heartcross Castle as a teen was something that Grace felt she had to do. Years later she finds herself realising that life hadn't been a bed of roses, but at least she had her three sons. Her life revolves around them and when she receives a letter she knows that this is the thing she has been waiting for. A fresh start for her and her boys. Behind the ear tattoos just look so effortlessly cool, and a small heart shape would be excellent here. The finished effect is fantastic; there is no denying that, but this is one of the most painful places to get inked. You will likely find yourself counting down the minutes until the session time is over because of the number of nerve endings in this location. You will also need to consider the buzzing of the tattoo machine and vibration, which, again, can cause discomfort. A wrist tattoo looks elegant on every one; this piece will also take minimal time to create and, therefore, not cost much either. A location is an excellent place for a tattoo that you want to see all the time, but because the area has little muscle and fat, getting inked here can cause mild discomfort. For this reason, it is best to choose simple, small designs. Also, it’s important to remember that exposure to this area will likely cause the tattoo to blur or fade faster than other parts of the body. I have read a few of this lovely heartwarming series and I have to say that I think this is my favourite! As mentioned it is part of a series but I feel like it can be read as as a standalone as they author does mention characters from previous books.
