The other darkest tents on the market don’t even compare to the Quechua. It’s truly a fantastic piece of technology that’s perfect for almost all scenarios that I’ve come across. One of my favorite camping weekends of the year ended up ruined because the sun kept waking me up earlier than I would have liked.

At first, I wasn’t worried about any weather problems with the Coleman Skydome. But after a few trips, the tent started to leak during heavy rainstorms. We had a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast, cooked on Campingaz 400 stove. Then we went off for a nice walk into the local town of Coleford for some supplies, a wonder around and to exercise the doggos. We found ourselves sat outside a lovely tea shop, partaking in some lovely scones and coffee. The patrons of the shop were a delight and also bought the dogs out some treats and water.The ventilation mesh runs around the outside of the inner tent, like large window panes, to keep air circulation flowing out. This gives you a 360-degree view of your surroundings with the curtains open and is key when you can have up to 10 people sleeping inside the same tent. The tent fabric of the Octagon is polyester, and the inside has mesh material. Both of these combined help tremendously with keeping the tent cool. These infrequent negative experiences don’t affect my stance on its durability because it might have happened in the factory and wasn’t due to wear and tear. This tent is extremely heavy, but thankfully, the Bushnell has a carry case. It’s extremely lightweight, affordable, and sets up in just seconds. The only thing that it might not be is the perfect ‘family tent.’ The first two layers reflect the sunlight, the third layer absorbs the light, and the last layer helps reduce the tent’s heat on a hot summer day.That super light weight includes all the poles and everything! Fiberglass poles like these are some of my favorites because they are light. Technically, the Skydome is a four-person tent, but realistically, it fits two people comfortably. For this price, you can’t beat it! The other benefit of camping with children in this tent is that they can use the front screen room. Again, having one of these rooms allows the little ones to get some fresh air without worrying about mosquito bites or other dangers. Plus, the screen room offers better ventilation if you get too hot at night.

Due to its low weight and small size, I have used the Vango as a camping tent for other events like festivals and fishing trips. We got the tent up between rain showers and then the wet weather finally left us in peace to enjoy the tent and our wonderful surroundings.
