About this deal

Corefix – unlike other typical rawl plug based fixings – will bridge the gap between the plasterboard and the solid wall behind it. Corefix has been independently tested to handle a loading of 100* kgs but our own in-house tests show that Corefix will securely support a staggering 250* kgs.

Living in a new-ish house with dot and dab exterior walls, fitting anything heaver than a picture to the wall has always been a real bind. They are fitted like a standard brick wall fixing, but the metal bridge piece solves the dot and dab problem. This highly effective and innovative product was developed to safely secure heavy loads including cabinets and brackets to dot and dab plasterboard walls or board supported on battens. Use this wall fixing kit to secure wall units, shelves, cabinets, radiators and more to plasterboard over blockwork walls in your home. Corefix Air (Blue) has been created to highlight the suitability for use when fixing into thermalite/aircrete blocks as this type of wall construction is notoriously difficult to fix to. The screws do appear quite long when first seen but as they have to go through the plaster board then the gap and then into the brick it is understandable why they are this length and give the support the do.

Often resulting in the fixing screw bending slightly over time due to the distance between the rawl plug and the face of the plasterboard/item being fixed. The plugs, while cleverly designed, are made of a very cheap material and the screw will strip it if tightened with anything other than a hand screwdriver. With a precision engineered plug and steel core, the system transfers the majority of the load away from the plasterboard and ties this into the solid block or brickwork behind, giving total peace of mind. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. I’ve already mounted a heavy mirror on such a wall but the fixings are so long they lean down into the plasterboard from the horizontal.Note the screws are 6mm diameter, check the holes in your fitting can accommodate the screw size, you may need to gently open up the bracket hole with a 6mm metal drill to ensure a good fit. Corefix products that are not only highly competitive but use quality materials that have been rigorously tested in 'live' construction situations before market release. Other materials that it can be used in conjunction with include fibreboards and insulated plasterboard.

My wife took no time at all filling the cupboards with tins of food and anything else she could find and these have anchored the cupboards so well I'm impressed . Please complete the purchase (or remove the quote – don't worry it's still available in My Account) before adding these additional items. Well I did that first and the screw is in tight, but the head deflects down at the opening from the plasterboard and crushes the plasterboard under it.

Developed with installation speed in mind, each three part set can be fitted in less than a minute with no specialist tools required.
