About this deal

You can imagine how much of a nightmare it is when children use adult spoons and have to rotate them to gather the food. The problem is, wrist rotation takes up to a year (or more) for babies to master which leads to frustration- for parent and baby! GOOtensils can be used with a range of foods, including baby food, home blends, oatmeal, yogurt, mashed solids and more. Once the child has learned the basic food-to-mouth motion, the stage two pre-spoon, which holds more food, can be used interchangeably for thicker foods.

We'd have the second spoon ready waiting for her to finish the first one then present it for her to swap on her own.

Unlike a spoon, the head is flat, so there’s no scooping, no balancing, and no wrong way to hold it! These are the perfect utensils for baby because it allows them to feed themselves before they have mastered the wrist rotation required for a spoon. My milk is still her primary source for nutrition, so we are easing into this stage gracefully, and learning together as we go. My 7 month old has really started getting arsey if we try to feed him with a spoon, but if you hand him the preloaded spoon he will eat it. Introduce stage one pre-spoon (with raised textures) first so child can soothe their sore gums as they are getting acclimated to holding the utensil.

With other baby spoons, I worry that pieces will break off when my daughter uses them as a teether, but with these, there's no cause for concern. The spoon and fork both have short handles like the NumNum GOOtensils, and also has a choking guard.

Please note: This special service is available exclusively on weekdays after 12pm ensuring your urgent needs are met promptly. Unlike other similar bibs, the Baby Livia bib has a practical high collar to keep mealtime less messy. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Baby Utensils for Ages 6 Months to 18 Months: No scooping, no balancing, and best of all: no wrong way to hold it! Another downside is that they don't have a choking guard and are labeled as choking hazards for children under 3, so you need to be careful not to let your kids play with them when it's not mealtime.

I have the NumNum brand ‘pre-spoons’ and while I’ve loved them in theory, I can’t help but feel like they’re keeping my baby from learning a skill of actually feeding himself with his hands. The dimpled head is perfect for dipping in purées, while the channels in the open head are ideal for thicker blends and soft solids. This can happen as early as 6 months, but most kids are truly ready to tackle utensils somewhere between 10 and 14 months. If your baby is just starting solids, or if your toddler is learning how to use utensils, I highly recommend trying out these pre-spoons — they were a great help for my daughter. We truly believe that both baby and mummy, should be rewarded from time to time - and you can get them all here, at Jumping Baby Jacks. NumNum’s innovative and effective approach to baby feeding has turned mealtime meltdowns into mealtime memories, supporting thousands of families in their starting solids journeys. Perfect for All Types of Food: Designed to work great with purees (first stage spoon) and soft or solid foods (second stage spoon) anything you want to put in the bowl!
