About this deal

Two houses. Two front doors. One family. And we’re going to make it work. Nothing can possibly go wrong. Today we move into our new houses, right next door to each other. My ex-husband and me. He’s with someone else. So am I. Would make a brilliant Netflix series,it has all the ingredients needed and as always from this author written so well

Having a Kindle Unlimited subscription, I decided to give this book a go about an ideal break-up. Is there such a thing? Jess and Rob have an amicable divorce. Parents to a son named Toby, one of the decisions they make is to move next-door to each other, although each of them now have new partners. What could possibly go wrong? I'm sorry, on what planet does a divorced couple think it's a good idea to move into houses next door to each other?! Halsall does a solid job of explaining why the family does it, but I just don't get it. Turns out, A LOT could go wrong! In Rona Halsall's The Wife Next Door, what starts as an ideal setup turns scary when a note appears, keys go missing, and a false accusation is brought into the mix. As the description states, “ Two houses. Two front doors. One family. Nothing can possibly go wrong…Takashi (Naohiro Hirakawa) is at a company party when he meets two women but ends up going with Sakura (Reiko Yamaguchi) and marrying six months later. He seems to think all is great until he takes Sakura home to meet his family and soon she is sleeping with all of them. This is an extremely shameful addition to my watched list, I went way too far down the rabbit hole. I saw this on an a tastefully erotic list on here and those movies are far from porn. They are movies with sex in them but there are maybe a couple of sex scenes. I wanted to stop watching this movie once I figured out what it was, but I always commit no matter how bad or in this case uncomfortable a movie makes me. Jane's mother has died and she is emptying the house ready for sale. But the memories are difficult to deal with, as she had a very abusive father and she and her mother were delighted when he left and they were able to live their lives without fear. However, the memories resurface as Jane learns her neighbours Ashleigh and Evan also have a volatile marriage, and then she sees Evan digging a trench in their garden. First there’s the explosive rows. Then she catches one of them digging a grave-shaped trench in the garden. Kinda lame but ultimately harmless horny housewife Pinku sex comedy. So charmingly hammy that it has some passive idiot flavor that I kinda adored when I wasn't zoning out during extended panty petting shots that honestly felt glacial.

I love the idea that we see may not be the whole truth or the truth being stranger than anything we could imagine! What they don't know is that they're messing with the wrong person. And that hell hath no fury like the wife next door...This book is told in multiple POV’s and one POV is in the past. The chapters are not labeled with who’s POV it is so it was a little confusing at first. The past POV is labeled. A complex story that involves three couples, all with marriage problems. Trigger warning that physical abuse is involved in some of the marriages. Well this definitely sets up the storyline for a very complicated family situation. Can this possibly work or will forces be against them? I think it would be much less entertaining for all of us if this goes very smoothly, we all need a few bumps along the way to keep us engaged and entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be on the look out for more of this authors work.

I loved the constant friction, the mysteries, the twists … all of it! What a great book. I was gasping, giggling, and on the edge of my seat for most of this compelling read. That said, I have a feeling most people will strongly disagree with my thoughts about the final chapter. Please bear that in mind if you’re considering reading this book. I loved 99% of it, so my dislike of the final 1% shouldn’t be given any undue emphasis. Okay, let's start with how many twists this book had. I couldn't work anything out and didn't understand the full story until towards the end when it all came to light. This really kept me on the edge of my seat and added to the mystery of the storyline. This domestic thriller had lots of twists and turns and gasp out loud moments while at the same time exploring the sensitive issues of divorce, domestic violence and coercive control and bringing this often hidden behind closed doors relationship issues o it into the open and giving them a voice.
