About this deal

But what this workaround is doing is preventing the ultra-light movements from your finger lingering/resting on the pad after a hit from being registered as a new Note ON gate. And some of us might tend to do a micro-bounce or micro-wiggle when we lift our finger OFF a pad, which can also trigger double-hits from ultra-low new velocity values. Basically the only way to play in this case is to also set fixed velocity at 80% for example from inspector. That way at least you know that you need to press harder to pass the 4% minimum velocity set by NOTE FX and you will always register ~80% velocity (or whatever you chose) no matter what. On the contrary Atom SQ’s appearance seems much complicated than Atom and we can see it is much longer than Atom. It has many buttons and keys. It has a very interesting touch strip which increases its abilities. On the upper right side, it has a simple and small screen that can be used to get information on its performance mode and other parametric functions etc. Commonly for both users, it requires 32GB of HDD space, USB-C or USB A-2.0 port compatibility & Studio one 4.1 for native integration. While talking about Atom SQ, its requirements are mostly the same as above but there are some changes i.e For both Windows and macOS users, it requires a USB-2.0 port, 20 GB of HDD space & obviously Studio One for native integration. This workaround isn't perfect, but it does make the SQ far more *usable* while we wait for a firmware update, if you're a "light touch" player and if you like to rest your fingers on the pads in between new hits.

For Bitwig, this is an easy choice. Luanchpad X is already compatible, unlike the Atom, and Novation have a good reputation for keeping their hardware compatible over the years, unlike NI. I don't even think it's a low velocity issue - because my double notes all seem to have similar velocity to the first (intended) hit. it's as if my initial hits are too fast and the pad doesn't register. Context-sensitive screen displays valuable parameter information including CC assignments, swing, and much more

Novation by a long shot. The Atom would be cool if Moss could write a script for it, but otherwise it's a Studio One device IMO. Intuitive and easy-to-use, ATOM is more than just an expressive MIDI pad controller: It's a production and performance controller as well. Use the velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads to play your virtual instruments live, with incredible expressiveness. Navigate your session without looking at the screen. Automate filter sweeps with four responsive knobs. Wherever inspiration takes you, ATOM lets you focus on the music. In the main key sector, it has two key rows & each row contains 16 keys. On the left side, we can see some control buttons such as undo, loop, save and count in. And there are eight knobs provided. There is a LED line on the top of the touch strip, also we can see there is a set of buttons around the screen that allow us to control many of its features. And we can say Atom SQ’s appearance seems much complicated and advanced when compared to Atom’s. The main knob from the right that controls the menu, touches or is rubbing something inside or the plastic when turning it around. Can anyone confirm this ?

Selectable pad velocity curves and pressure thresholds customize the pads’ response for maximum expressionEnjoy full expression with switchable polyphonic aftertouch, channel pressure, or MIDI CC message modes As a matter of fact, I think they get an A+ and did a top notch job on the SQ design, materials and components -- that's why I am so bummed about how hard those pads have to be hit. plus -- it's difficult to be "expressive" when needing to hit everything 2 or 3x harder than my natural touch. The Launchkey X or the Maschine Mikro Mk3 and the Presonus Atom. (I might be inclined to include the Presonus Atom SQ but it's not yet supported by Bitwig natively or Moss.) This is especially common when you are playing held arpeggios or chordal top lines, where some fingers rest on their pads after hitting while one finger bounces around to different pads. It's also especially common on "weak" fingers such as the ring or pinky.
