About this deal

The Groegg is designed to glow gently and be visible in very low-level light or dark conditions. In lighter conditions use the digital readout. I have plugged in my Groegg but it doesn't seem to be on A temperature reading appears on the LED display at the same time, automatically changing whenever there is a temperature shift in the room.

Babies can’t yet regulate their own body temperature, so you need to make sure that their room is neither too hot (to reduce the risk of SIDS) nor too cold for them to sleep safely and hopefully soundly.Fiona: It is an excellent product for providing some safeguarding information. It provide easy information for how to dress the child at night, a time at which you are always understandbly nervous as to how to dress them. The colours also provide a night light to give a small section of light to use at night. So as a product to make life easier as a mum I would thoroughly recommend it. Would you recommend this product to other parents? However the Gro-egg 2 has a new sleek, silicone design that is 33% bigger and brighter, making it softer to touch and even easier to see at a glance, in addition to the innovative colour changing system and digital temperature display, the Gro-egg 2 includes four adjustable brightness levels allowing you to us it as a nightlight or find a light level which suits your baby. As mum to a now 14-month-old, I’ve been able to test the Groegg2 out in my own home, using it consistently for naps and during the night to monitor the temperature in my daughter’s room. I have also taken it with me for overnight stays at her grandparents’ house. A lot of baby monitors do have the same functions on them as the Gro-Egg, however, if you don’t use a baby monitor – if your child sleeps in with you at night, or if your baby monitor doesn’t have an inbuilt thermometer then this would be a great product for you. What’s the difference between Gro Egg and Gro Egg 2 thermometers? The Gro-egg glows yellow if the room temperature is within recommended guidelines (16-20C), if the temperature is outside this range, it acts as a reminder for you to take action to cool or heat the room, or to adjust your baby's bedding or clothing.

Alexandra: Yes I would I am not aware of many products which tell you the temperature of the room and give yoh a guide in this way I like the warm night light and compared to other night lights it doesn't get too hot which is fantastic as little hand get everywhere I have also been concerned with lights that get hot. While the Groegg2 may not be that useful to you if your baby monitor gives you accurate room temperature readings, you may still find it handy as a general room thermometer for other rooms in your house. Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own. The Original Gro-egg from the Gro Company, is a colour changing digital thermometer that lets you know the room temperature at a glance without having to go in and wake your sleeping baby!Laura Westerman is an editor, writer and Deputy Head of Editorial Content at Mumsnet. Mum to a one-year-old, she is extremely passionate about safe infant sleep, so is fully invested in finding the best and most affordable baby room thermometers on the market. The Groegg2 is a popular digital room thermometer and a favourite among parents. But does it provide the reassurance you need when it comes to safe infant sleep both day and night? Parent and MNHQ editor, Laura, reveals her verdict. Do your best to increase the room temperature. We recommend using a thermostatically controlled heater in the room where your baby is sleeping. Make sure that neither the heater or cable are within reach of your baby’s cot. Keep baby warm by adding extra layers of clothing, but always make sure your baby’s head is uncovered. If your baby has become cold, give them a warming cuddle or a warm drink before returning them to their cot with extra clothing or bedding. My Groegg doesn't read the temperature I think it should Every baby's home should have a Gro-egg room thermometer and it is ideal for use along with grobag sleeping bags to help you monitor the temperature of the room where your baby is sleeping. Peace of mind at a glance - The Tommee Tippee Groegg2 digital room thermometer changes colour to indicate the temperature of the room so you can adapt your child’s bedding, clothing or room temperature accordingly. The soft silicone dome-shaped room thermometer features a permanently lit LED display for an accurate temperature reading of the room.
