About this deal

Um, I’m not American and I’m looking at a recipe for cheese that needs gelatine… What on earth is this Velveeta??

Can you please kindly tell me what you used to replace the dry milk powder? I cannot seem to find it here in France. Many thanks! Good point, Kathy! We shouldn’t get hung up on people using the write words. It’s always better to except the use of any word at all so that nobody feels bad about getting something wrong, and really, who needs to learn anything anyway? Let’s all just pancake whatever beach we dogfood.

As Seen In…

Hi Donna, I’m not familiar with the Nutri bullet… I’m not sure how it would do with this recipe, but you could always try! I agree, it’s not that important, but can’t help notice the Irony of you having the need to correct Michele M while she corrects the author Michelle. LOL This cheese is often used in cheese sauces, sandwiches, salads, and can sometimes be found on cheese boards. It has a very mild flavour, making it easy for people to eat.

We also recommend a rich, tangy cheese with a very sharp taste, which is cheddar cheese. This extra sharp cheddar cheese can be also used as a way to replace Velveeta cheese. it in the fridge. With ThAnksgiving coming, it will come in handy for my broccoli casserole and Mac n cheese for my son and his buddy from college. What is “fake jello cheese”? Never heard of that. Apparently you don’t like Velveeta and that’s ok – to each his own. I’m assuming you didn’t try to make it so I’m not sure how you know it’s gross. In future, if you don’t have something nice to say, maybe you shouldn’t say anything at all. Just a thought… In the 1980s, Velveeta used the advertising jingle, " Colby, Swiss and Cheddar, blended all together" in its US television commercials to explain its taste and texture because real cheese was used in the product at that time. [14] See also [ edit ] Ok I just made this and it’s not a 100% like velveta but damn close to it, I will never buy Velveeta again I will make it myself, thank you If you don’t want to use any other type of cheese, this recipe for melted Velveeta cheese will be the perfect way to create the best substitute. Cheese is a very important and staple ingredient in many recipes. Since they all have different textures and tastes, some of them are best suited to be melted.

Mozzarella is another good cheese to use in place of Velveeta when you are feeding someone who has very specific cheese tastes. Although it cannot be used in place of everything, it is a good substitute because it is a creamy cheese. It melts well and is going to please people who prefer real cheese. You can also use gruyere cheese to replace Velveeta cheese. This is often found in sandwiches and casseroles, or on top of soup. Hi Lori, I used non-fat milk dry milk powder, you don’t need to use whole milk in this recipe. Thanks for the correction :)
