About this deal

The little cases are so cute, and they are a self contained portion of cake that you can simply place onto a large flat baking tray, portion the cake mix into the cases, and bake.

GO TO EYFS HUB When it came to the fruit for this coronation cake, it had to be quite particular due to the flag. I went for strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, all of which are starting to come into season when the coronation happens so it’s the perfect time to use them.I mix the cake mix like normal; beat the butter and sugar together, add the eggs and flour and lemon extract and mix, and then split between the cases. To be super neat, I used a piping bag, but you can obviously spoon the mix in as well. These little beauties are cute, fun, and so easy to make. They are perfect for any street party or celebration for the coronation in a few weeks time, enjoy! Emma Bridgewater has launched a kitchenware collection to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. And, the brand has just announced a 30% discount on the range!

While we prepare to celebrate, we're looking for collectible items we can add to our home for a touch of celebratory flair. We've compiled a list of the best Coronation tins that double as memorabilia, and these collectibles are sure to become a very popular options for people looking for ways to remember this historic occasion. Plus, they're also a great gift idea if you're attending a street party, or just know someone who is a huge royal fan. This cake is best served fresh on the day because of the fruit and cream, but can last 1-2 days in the fridge if needed! If you don’t have time to close the road by speaking to your local council, you can run what is called a ‘Street Meet’, says A Plan Insurance. So, if you live in a cul de sac, "councils are generally happy for this to go ahead without permission". If not, use your driveways, parking areas and front gardens. After all, none of these will require council permission - and should be problem-free as long as you "don’t obstruct pavements". Where will the Coronation happen? You can obviously use a buttercream instead if you want – but I would avoid an icing like on the school cake as that may cause the fruit to run off slightly. A standard buttercream would be 175g unsalted butter mixed with 350g icing sugar.

The King's Coronation is just around the corner (it's on Saturday 6 May FYI) and we can't wait for all the events that are planned over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend. For this year’s celebrations, Asda is rolling out a new range of bakery products that are truly fit for royalty. From reimagined classics such as the cake jar to new products like the crown-adorned crumpets, there’s a bakery treat for everyone to enjoy on the big day. With that in mind, perhaps choosing a different scheme altogether may be preferred. For example, floral patterns are quite British - and will look gentle and elegant. Asda has royally waved at the public festivities with a raft of offerings from its bakery department.

Available online and in stores from today (17 April), Tesco’s new coronation range aims to help its shoppers plan a ‘celebration fit for royalty’. If you’re keen on getting one as a souvenir for yourself or a gift for a loved one, browse through our favourite tins below.

Eggs – I used medium eggs, but if you have other sizes, weigh them in their shells and then match the other ingredients – get to as close to 400g as possible. Step 2 For the cake, using a freestanding mixer, or a handheld electric whisk and a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5min. Gradually beat in the eggs. If the mixture looks as if it might curdle, beat in 1tbsp of the flour. Beat in the vanilla bean paste. Step 1 Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) mark 4 and grease and line a rough 25 x 30cm baking/roasting tin with baking parchment. For other decoration, I used fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and then a little sprinkling of freeze dried raspberries as well because they always make the best decoration.

As for the Coronation ceremony itself, this event is rooted in a longstanding tradition. On Saturday, 6 May 2023, King Charles will be crowned alongside the Queen Consort. Plus, on the following day, a special Coronation Concert will be broadcast on the BBC, live from Windsor Castle. What do you need for the big day?Whilst school and nursery classes are not dictated by awareness days in the annual calendar, they can certainly be utilised to make learning a little bit different and raise children’s awareness of what is happening in the world around them. One such example occurring in May 2023 is the King’s coronation! In this blog, we are going to share some ideas of how you can incorporate coronation themed activities into your typical day at school or nursery to support children’s learning and development. You could use these activities to get children to understand how the King might be feeling in light of the upcoming coronation when writing letters. This will enable children to explore PSED as they engage in literacy. We all know and love cupcakes, and loaf cakes, but why not combine the both?! There is something special that I adore about mini loaf cakes, and I just want to keep on baking them over and over.
