They’re the closest thing you’ll get to authentic British, Yorkshire scones and they’re great value as you’ll be receiving over 30 scones for your money. Make sure you’ve got some strawberry jam and whipped cream on hand though, you’ll be seriously missing out if not. Make the glaze by stirring together the sugar, water, and vanilla. Interesting idea, poorly executed.

For a chocaholic, these were very disappointing scones. There was nodiscernable smell, and I expected more flavour – I couldn't taste the chocolate drops at all. To make things worse, the drops started to melt after the scone had been in my hand for a couple of minutes. Never again. With rich, plump sultanas and a high butter content, these large scones are very colourful and flavoursome. They're great to eat without toppings, but would also go nicely with jam and cream. A definite 'eat me'!Bake the scones for 19 to 20 minutes, or until they're golden brown. Remove the pan from the oven, and allow the scones to cool right on the pan. When they're cool, cut each scone in half once again, to make a total of 64 tiny triangles. Don't be too particular here; in fact, if the scones are already a size you like, don't bother to cut them again. But if you decide to cut, don't stress about making them all the same size, or perfect triangles; trust us, no one but you will care once they're glazed and on the table. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until all is moistened and holds together. Stir in additional milk or half and half if the dough seems dry, and doesn't come together. In homes and cafés up and down the country, you'll hear folk arguing about whether these baked treats are pronounced scones(as in rhymes with bones) or scones(as in rhymes with cons); whether plain or fruit ones taste nicer (hey, what's wrong with the savoury types?); and whether you should spread jam or cream on first when having scones as part of an afternoon tea. Baked golden brown, these scones looked great, and they also had a lovely, light texture. I found them tasty on their own with butter, though they would also make a very good base for adding your own toppings. Recommended.
