Her heart may have been broken by love but it’s big enough to help those less fortunate than herself.Dilly's ability to bring the era alive the characters into believable entity's and the colourful expression and great pace leaves me, the reader, never wanting it to end!

The dark streets of London are the perfect place to hide from the world, and Patricia makes her living singing on the streets. I liked the character of Dolly, her bravery, strength, a wise head on her shoulders and her adventurous spirit all melded together to make a rollicking good read. Not one to refuse a challenge, Dolly decides to go to London and take on Liza's role until she is able to continue to do so and begs Gus Baker, a young soldier who began life at Rockwood as one of Nancy's street urchins she saved from the gutter, to acconpany her to London. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. Her heart may have been broken by love but it’s big enough to help those less fortunate than herself, and Nancy takes these unloved orphans in—but when one of them is accused of a serious crime, the neighbourhood turns against her. After witnessing her grandmama's harsh words towards a young girl who has auditioned for her, Dolly decides that she could follow a career on the stage as well. Abandoned by their parents and left to fight for themselves, headstrong Rosalind Carey has no choice but to take charge of her younger brothers and sister in Devonshire's grand Rockwood Castle. A great read so I want to go back to the beginning as it was the 6th book of the Rockwood Chronicles!
