About this deal

Meanwhile, Tyson, Kenny, Hilary and a new blader named Daichi are now what's left of the Bladebreakers, which is renamed the BBA Revolution. The four Bit-Beasts used by the main characters (Dranzer, Driger, Dragoon and Draciel) are representations of the four sacred beasts, Suzaku (Red Vermilion bird of fire, Dranzer), Byakko (White Tiger of gold, Driger), Seiryu (Blue Dragon of wood, Dragoon) and Genbu (Black Turtle of water, Draciel). The plot is a bit involved but boils down to Corayne, a young woman -- the last in her lineage -- who has a unique power to stop her bloodthirsty uncle from opening portals to other realms.

Another stand-out perspective is the female assassin Sorasa, who has been exiled from her guild and keeps to her own morally gray code of honor. I honestly would have much preferred to read an entire series about these two taking over the world and not have to deal with all of these other uninteresting characters who more or less have one defining feature of their personalities. What Blade Breaker does best is further the stories of the characters we came to know and love in Realm Breaker. All original members own Beyblades that have names beginning with the prefix "Dr"; (Tyson - Dragoon, Kai - Dranzer, Ray - Driger, Max - Draciel). Anyways, I don’t get why the daughter of an infamous pirate and the last of the bloodline of Old Cor never even had a single bad experience other than being lonely and missing her mom, who quite honestly sucks.

Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard | Hachette UK

It’s clear Aveyard is committed to continually exploring her characters with greater depth, in spite of everything happening around them. Simply because Valtik is wacky, old, and speaks in really simplistic rhymes which it is hard not to blame the author for writing these lines in the first place, instead of Valtik herself. By the time they finish their journey in Europe, they head to Russia for the finals against the Demolition Boys, where they learn the true reason behind the team's formation. Often most other teams have a specific running theme among their Bladers, but the Bladebreakers each have their individual styles, fitting in with their ideal of supporting all styles of Beyblading.Even Rand al’Thor, who didn’t spend very much time in Edmond’s Field at the beginning of the The Wheel of Time series, had time between Trolloc attacks to demonstrate that he not only looked different from the other inhabitants of their small town, but also that he had a vastly different lifestyle from the other kids his age because he lived not in town, but up in the mountains with his shepherd father. He's no six-pack-sporting alpha male; he's a soft-hearted, thoughtful, and loving squire-turned-rebel.

Blade Breaker’ By Victoria Aveyard - Fangirlish Book Review: ‘Blade Breaker’ By Victoria Aveyard - Fangirlish

A dragon can become such an overused plot device, and a fantasy story can rely on dragons to the point that the story suffers. Seventeen-year-old Corayne an-Amarat thinks she's the daughter of one of the most devious pirates on the seas and a deadbeat dad, but it turns out she's also a Corblood (a descendant of human travelers from another realm) who can wield Spindleblade that can stop the villains. The light of different stars, she thought, remembering her mother and how she used to glare at the sky, as if she could will the stars of Glorian to replace the stars of the Ward. The book’s sweeping scope takes our heroes from the scorching sands of desert kingdom Ibal to the wild snows of the Jydi mountains to the north and the story’s propulsive feel and steadily rising tension make the simple act from walking from one town to another more interesting than it has any right to be.
