The collected spirit has pure water added to it before resting for a minimum of 2 weeks before we bottle and label. The spirit has pure water added to it before it is rested for a minimum of two weeks and then bottled at 46% ABV. Our Sloe Boat Gin has been made by steeping wild-harvested sloe berries for 6 months in our Double Gin.

To finish the process a small amount of PX sherry is added to give our spirit a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Without them, this site would not function correctly or be able to collect information to make your experience better. Using a very high proportion of sloe berries to spirit gives a rich natural flavour which is then gently sweetened with sustainably sourced organic sugar. This double contact method, which Dutch genever distillers would term ‘dubbel gebeide genever’, results in a more pronounced juniper flavour.

Using his background in spirits, founder Joe McGirr realised his dream to build the first legal distillery in Fermanagh in more than 130 years. THE DISTILLERY – Boatyard is an award-wining distillery located inside an old boatyard on the banks of Lough Erne in the North West of Ireland. By exposing it to juniper at two separate points in its creation, the distiller can create a gin with a more complex and pronounced juniper flavour. Boatyard Double Gin is an award-winning, certified organic gin, produced in County Fermanagh in North West Ireland. We also use lemon peel which we take from unwaxed lemons on the day that they are to be used for ultimate freshness. Palate - "Disciplined framework, with creamy lemon and lime, integrated rose and lavender, with a hint of liquorice, finishing with underlying angelica root, locked in with a little spice and even more mouth-filling citrus.
