Cills without thermal breaks cannot be used on your home, just on some commercial type projects.

Mine more resembles the example on the left.. so more of a pointed tip than a groove... I assume both would do the same job..? Or should I look to get another with the grooved tip..?!? The system is manufactured in maintenance free powder coated aluminium in white as standard with any RAL no. colour available at extra cost and lead time. The height measurements must be from underneath of any existing removable cill unless no cill is required.Durable, long-lasting and practically maintenance-free 150mm uPVC plastic window sill. If it was screwed from underneath, you will need to take the whole frame out and sort it properly. The window frame itself can have an effect on which type of cill should be used, but the majority of frames may be used with either slip or stooled cills. I think I was somewhat unclear so sorry. I have attached an image to show what I mean more clearly. Sometimes it may be appropriate to use aluminium cill pressings instead of either an aluminium sub-cill or an aluminium extension cill. A cill pressing should not bridge the thermal break in the aluminium door/window profile as this creates a Cold Bridge which reduces the energy efficiency of the frames and in some cases will not be compliant with the Building Regulations as it could cause condensation.
