This series also had a lot of trigger warnings. Before reading, it's important to get a heads up about the long list of it. Though, the fact that this violence-heavy series became one of my greatest comfort books is kinda funny hihi.Andrew’s protectiveness of Neil over everything else in this one really moved me so much. the man’d do anything for Neil fr. the shower scene? the way he took care of him, so carefully and meticulously - I CAN’T I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. 😭😭 This novel won the Pulitzer Prize in 1947 and is the work for which Warren is most known. He also received the Pulitzer for Poetry in 1958 and 1979. I read this one at the beginning of this month. This is an absolutely fine novel with some gorgeous, thoughtful, and insightful writing. It's got morality and ethics and how it ties into politics and how flawed we are as human beings even as we're trying to reach some depth in our characters. I first read it about 40 years ago. Having just finished my second reading (I think only two), I think the book is a better novel than I remembered it as, though I've always felt it was a "five-star" book. Romance wasn't the focus in this book but when it comes to Andrew and Neil, it felt like time slowed down and they're the only people in the world, carefree and unproblematic. Yes, it's always yes for you. Warren did not originally envision this work as a novel, but as a tragic drama entitled "Proud Flesh." Warren ended up putting that manuscript away. He realized that he had focused on a man of power rather than those few people who are always surrounding that man of power, and in writing All the King's Men, Warren focused on the "Greek" chorus to whom he had not given proper voice in his originally conceived work.

Ahahahaha so this is funny because I hate sports. Hate them. When I first started this series I thought I would be bored because it largely focuses on a made-up sport called Exy. And yeah, I was a little bored during those parts, especially because I didn’t wholly understand how the s this is still the best thing that happened to me several months ago (it hasn't even been a year since i first read it lmao) and i love this so MUCH AND I LOVE MY FOXES AND I WOULD DIE FOR ANDREW AND NEIL These damaged, ruthless, broken, beautiful foxes. I love them with my whole being that I literally had a breakdown because they're only fictional. 😭 Office for Intellectual Freedom (March 26, 2013). "Banned & Challenged Classics". American Library Association . Retrieved June 15, 2021. Also, if I ever start to get tattoos, the paw on the first book's cover will be the first or second. I even know the place where I want it. That's how trash I am for them. They are my family now, too.

All the King's Men

tbh literally just Kevin's reaction to everything. constant sigh @ the team. constant irritation @ Neil. Trying to keep tiny irresponsible children in line whilst drinking vodka like its water HONESTLY Kevin is my third fav behind Neil and Andrew but tied with Dan I love him so much And I'm not as smart as I thought I was," Andrew said. "I know better than to do this again. Perhaps it's the self-destructive streak in me?"
