About this deal

While some claim he was unnecessarily annoying and added nothing to the overall story, others think his antics made him one of the most endearing characters.

Celebrate the most stellar fandom of them all with the new Funko POP! Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Jar Jar Binks Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – GameStop Exclusive. Binks was supposed to put the humorous note in the story, just as the incomparable C3PO in the original trilogy. His Caribbean accent, which George Lucas claimed was based on “pidgin English from the Samoan islands and Pacific islands and the Caribbean,” was criticized for perpetuating negative stereotypes. Jar Jar Binks is one of the most unpopular characters in the Star Wars universe, but even though his appearances in the films have drastically decreased, he hasn’t been left behind entirely.Created by George Lucas as a way to appeal to younger audiences, Jar Jar was intended to provide comic relief in the politically charged and serious plot of The Phantom Menace. However, it’s worth noting that Lucas depended heavily on Star Wars merchandise sales, particularly toys, to fund the prequels. Watching Jar Jar Binks do the samba across the big screen with a big dopey grin is an unforgettable experience. So, why not honor it for eternity with the new Funko Pop! Star Wars: Jar Jar Binks Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – Star Wars Celebration 2023 Exclusive, depicting one of the most controversial figures in Star Wars history?

It’s possible that keeping Jar Jar in the films was a way to appeal to younger audiences and sell more merchandise. Love or hate him, there’s no denying that Jar Jar Binks has left a lasting impression on Star Wars fans worldwide. However, as we all know, things didn’t quite go as planned, and Jar Jar has become one of the most controversial characters in the Star Wars universe.

Jar Jar Binks was a cowardly, bumbling, six-foot-two, long-eared Gungan who spoke with a Jamaican accent and the ability to screw up everything he did. He’s been a mysterious figure that left many people asking: how did George Lucas go from Darth Vader to this? As it turns out, despite the negative reception, Jar Jar’s impact on pop culture is still alive and well – a testament to his poor acting skills! That's not to say Ahmed himself needs redeeming. Any hatred felt for Jar Jar Binks should be aimed at George Lucas, who wrote him, not Best himself, and even then, that hate should be kept to the hater instead of thrown out into the world, Sith-style. His last appearance in the film saga was in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where he can be seen in a few scenes without substantial dialogue.

Best probably won't ever reprise the role of Jar Jar Binks on screen again, although he is open to it, apparently. What we're far more likely to see is more of Kelleran Beq later down the line instead. Regardless of the reasons behind Jar Jar’s creation and continued presence in the prequels, there’s no denying that he’s a character that divides the Star Wars fanbase. It didn’t help that he was given a major role in the plot, even rising to become the Junior Representative for Naboo in the Galactic Senate.
