About this deal

Holly’s Ted Talk has been watched by over 150,000 people and she has appeared on Lorraine, BBC, ITV, Talk Radio and featured in The Daily Mail, Mirror, The Sun, Closer, Hello, Psychologies Life Labs and Spirit & Destiny and Prima Magazine. The weekend is 'supposed' to be lovely and it is very much advertised as such, but what if you don't find weekends easy? What if you LOVE Monday's? Let's chat about the stories we tell ourselves and build up our positive mindset.

Holly is a qualified Life Coach, NLP practitioner, hypnotherapist and also coaches women in business as a mentor, where her focus is primarily on confidence and ‘getting your business seen in a noisy world’.

3. Kindness

In this episode we talk about clapping for ourselves, celebrating who we are, owning our weirdness and quirks and be our authentic self. Holly has amassed over 60,000 followers across her social media platforms and her award winning YouTube Channel 'Happy Me TV' also offers regular advice on navigating life and all it's challenges. Holly used this space to vlog about the death of her husband to brain cancer, which generated huge press interest in her story and enabled her to help more people. A no-nonsense guide to personal development, with real-life advice, for the skeptics of self-improvement.

I was doing things like meditation, and then I was going and drinking cheap wine on the streets with my mates in Longbenton or Heaton. I was a closet meditator!” Holly laughs. Being an adult human is messy, awkward, challenging and often embarrassing. in this episode we own the chaos and remind ourselves that we are all the same. Starting with The Happy Me Project, Holly’s online and in-person self-development platform, I asked: “The Happy Me Project is obviously something you’re very passionate about. How did it come about, and where would you like to go with it?” Holly also advocated implementing a “Definitely Maybe” system, which involves writing down what changes have been made for definite (who you’ll be living with etc.) and changes that might happen (what someone will think of me etc.). “There’s a level of control in even just listing that down,” Holly said. After starring in the hit Newcastle-based BBC series from 1995 to 2003, Holly went on to appear in the likes of Waterloo Road, The Bill, Doctors and Casualty. Her star turn on TV was what first inspired her to turn towards self-help.Life is challenging enough without us being unkind to ourselves. Sometimes we just need to be reminded that even though their may be difficult stuff we are dealing with and our house might be a mess (my house is a mess!) we are still doing fabulous. The Happy Me Project boasts 2 sell out workshop tours across the UK and has seen thousands of men and women go through it’s virtual doors. The Happy Me Project has a focus on simplifying self development and takes the ‘fancy’ out of positive thinking.

She’s best known in her home of the North East for playing Emma Miller in Byker Grove - and almost two decades on, Holly Matthews' Geordie roots are still very much present in her new career. We all want to achieve our goals but are we willing to work for them and can we answer this one question I will talk about in this show? Boosting your self esteem and building your confidence is the kindness thing you can do for yourself and will take you closer to the life you want. Holly Matthews is on a mission to make your life better, and she's keeping it simple. No BS. No fluff.
