About this deal

However as a collector of all things out of date, i have recently sold VHS tapes and Laser Discs so obviously there is always going to be a market for things out of print, out of date, and the like.

Despite its musical complexity, abstruse themes and embrace of the band's King Crimson fandom, the album debuted at Number One and launched Tool into amphitheaters and arenas around the world. or so isn’t too shabby, especially considering the fact that the bootlegs are now kind of a cult-status in their own right….

I feel like this record was made just for me by super-smart aliens or something, because it's just like a cross of 1971 and 1987. Dave Everly claimed "It’s the most perfectly played, perfectly produced record you’re likely to hear this or any other year" and that it was "one of the greatest albums you’ll hear in your lifetime. This comes in yellow or green vinyl most often, however there are also plenty of black vinyl versions. This lull felt like the negative pressure wave, the 'inhalation' that precedes an atomic blast, while the brutally powerful dynamic impact of the next moment confirmed the atomic blast analogy, making me feel as though I'd been knocked flat and then carried in the maelstrom. i bought a different copy of Lateralus like 4 months ago and that one was littered with pops and skips.

It's 'unofficial' ie not authorised by the band, but it is an 'official' Volcano/Tool Dissectional release. Two of the singles from the album, " Parabola" and " Schism", are featured in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour.I suspect the recording engineers knew exactly what they intended to deliver here, and it's a sonic revelation that such skilled audio manipulation of our spacial perceptions is possible. This is identical in packaging to Tool (2) - Lateralus but the side C matrix has a different RTI code, indicating a ~2022 version. Tool are the best metal band, since they can get trippy (almost pretty, but in a dark way) then just really loud. I reacted to this album at a far more visceral and emotional level than I have ever experienced before, it was the best trip I've experienced in years, and entirely induced by the music.

By contrast, Lateralus' nine-and-a-half-minute title track is based, both in its time signatures and lyric patterns, on the Fibonacci sequence of numbers that describes many of nature's spiralling shapes, from ferns to pine cones. Disposition" features bongos, and then on the next song, "Reflection," Carey's toms sound like bongos or tablas or whatever is in those Fruitopia commercials. The album was recorded at Cello Studios in Hollywood and The Hook, Big Empty Space, and The Lodge, in North Hollywood, between October 2000 and January 2001. Static on my album is noticeable even in louder parts of the songs (especially at the beginning of each side), even after a deep-clean. This seller keeps adding this listing after each auction ends with the exact same photos of an opened copy.

I've got to the point that I play it and try and tune out the crackle because when the band kicks in it's a pretty great sounding thing and they well and truly drown out the surface noise. As emotional, melodic metal goes (the cultural impact of which will be left to the reader), it opened doors for bands like the Deftones, and to some degree, Limp Bizkit.

The lyrics "spiral out" refer to this desire and also to the Fibonacci spiral, which is formed by creating and arranging squares for each number in the sequence's 1,1,2,3,5,8,. Doea anybody know the Etchings on the Record-On side A the only Etching is TOOLP-A00-A or TOOLP-100-A - Thats the side with the Guy on it,there isnt an etching on side B. For a band that seems to focus and invest so much time and energy on how they sound, it boggles my mind that would choose to press it on a crappy, noisy picture disc.

As usual the the bootleg quality is very poor compared the official pressing, but since it was so limited(I would estimate less than 500) collector and discogs information may not be accurate. I may be wrong, but the LP was bought from a well known record dealer, has 'proper labels' (I've owned plenty of bootlegs and they ain't ever as good as a record plant), and most important, the DR values are much higher than the CD so that rules out either a cd to lp or flac to lp master.
