About this deal

This is a big, bawdy, blue-dyed French perfume, disguised as a men's scent, and that's reason enough for me to like it. I do not smell neither blackcurrant nor watermelon - smells that I love, and which was whole reason I blindly bought it based on reviews and notes. I don't smell any fruit here, was overall surprised to see the notes, would've expected something aquatic.

Old is indeed gold, and this fragrance proves that some scents never truly fade; they evolve, carrying with them the essence of our past and the emotions tied to those moments. Like many fine things, it took me time to acquire the taste, from a like at first spray its now a love. The top notes of this EDT entice with a burst of invigorating marine freshness, harmoniously blended with tangy grapefruit and energetic mint.I don't agree that it's feminine, although I concede that it might be a little metrosexual in the way that many aquatics are. If Givenchy lowered the level of sweetness, and added some more salt instead, then maybe I would have loved to wear this one again. UPDATE: I recently bought a bottle and found the longevity a little poor compared to what I had expected.

Its in your face, loud, acute and feels like the same type of scent of car air fresheners that give you a pounding headache, very artificial. Not a bad thing really but the comments below referring to this as a masterpiece are misleading in my opinion. As the fragrance settles, the heart notes reveal a complex yet balanced combination of aromatic juniper berries, delicate lotus flowers, and intense lavender.

Like Verdi di Mare, Insense Ultramarine carries a retro vibe, and surpasses the common typical aquatics found in today's day and age. I have Creed's MI, but I was hoping to find something that's very similar to this because it's truly a hidden gem! Beginning is a boost of energy watermelon, bergamot and wild berries, in the heart softens with flowers, sage and mint, which is opposed to these, the bottom is shady and dense with cardamom, tobacco and lily.It is not easy to tell this scent, in some ways is similar to Iceberg pour homme (at least 18 years ago), but has a freshness Insensé Ultramarine up: and here the mint does an excellent job, but the freshness would be nothing if the bottom lush not accommodate. I was about 20 when this was released by Givenchy and my aunt who worked in duty free at Heathrow Airport brought me back a bottle as a gift. I am reviewing a 2001 bottle and I must admit I get no watermelon sweetness, just an undertone of unripe fruit that makes the overall salty character a bit more playful. It has a strong pungent start for 30 - 60 minutes before drying down to skin scent with an occasional trail and lasts 3 - 6 hours. I understand ultramarine, but why couldn’t Givenchy come up with a little more class, like they usually do.
