During production at Port Sunlight the glycerol (glycerine) content was a result of not removing that formed during the manufacturing process. Jones, Geoffrey (2010). The General Compendium with its list of prime ministers, weights and measures and international paper sizes was always a hoot. On 27 February 2003 the 7th Amendment to the EU Cosmetics Directive (Directive 2003/15/EC) introduced a new legal requirement related to the labelling of 26 specific ingredients if present in a cosmetic product above the following concentration thresholds: 0.001% (10mg/kg) for leave-on products and 0.01% (100mg/kg) for rinse-off products. The volumehas offeredamix of "solid facts and fascinating gems" spanning a breadth of subjects, fromglobal events toNorse mythology, modern cinema tomedical matters and even the latest tax advice, since 1897. It was used in schools andcolleges, offices and libraries, and by students and researchers, newspapers, radio and TV stations.Older editions included such important information as "how to correct printers' proofs", "watch and time regulations on ships" and "marks on continental porcelain". An analysis of the current ingredients list reveals items such as limonene, whose variant called L-limonene is characterised by a " turpentine-like odour" also typical of frankincense. It is an insecticide as well. However, this item was present in the pre-2009 formula, so the perceived change might be explained by different ingredients and by different proportions of ingredients.

The book'seditors at Penguin Random House explained they werewinding down the journal becausetheycould not imagine it continuing under another series editor. Statistics fromNielsen BookScan have also revealedvolume sales of the work have sharply declined in recent years:the 2001/02 edition sold 24,229copies whereasthe 2016/17 edition sold only2,854 copies. Believing that it is possible to live confidently without metaphysical or religious certainty and that all opinions are open to revision and correction, [Humanists] see human flourishing as dependent on open communication, discussion, criticism and unforced consensus.

That man should show respect to man, irrespective of class, race or creed is fundamental to the humanist attitude to life. Among the fundamental moral principles, he would count those of freedom, justice, tolerance and happiness…the attitude that people can live an honest, meaningful life without following a formal religious creed.

OK, I've never actually used this information but if I ever do get invited to appear on the Antiques Roadshow and someone comes in with some 18th-century German porcelain I won't be left floundering. The Sporting Compendium was also useful in settling arguments at school over who won the FA Cup in 1946 (it was Derby County) and the Derby in 1968 (Sir Ivor). The 1929/30 Pears' gave us instruction in "a nice way to cook tripe" and how to make rabbit brawn, the 2017/18 edition provides an International Glossary Of Food. The Little Book of Humanism (Little, Brown) – an accessible introduction to humanism from Humanists UK President Alice Roberts and Chief Executive Andrew Copson From 1953, it was published annually.
