About this deal

Definitely a unique one. I prefer this over Rochas Man by Rochas if you’re comparing the coffee notes. Thierry Mugler (Nowadays just MUGLER) changed the perfumery in 1992 when Angel was launched. A fruity patchouli, intoxicating and mesmerizing. A fragrance that defined a new olfactory family: Gourmand. Opens sour & a litte herbal, you are immediately hit by a cacophony of notes; mint, patchouli, a faint fruitiness, (orange peel?) with a dusty, chocolatey profile, very musty almost "churchy", ever so slightly green. Although it does garner compliments, this is an infamously divisive scent so definitely not blind-buy safe. BTW, thanks @paulmac1966, often I'm just trying to keep my self amused (along with hopefully contributing something) but I'm glad you enjoyed.

LOL, that being said, maybe I'm noseblind to the two, IMO, flankers that blow A*Men original away, Pure Malt and Havane to me has medium stay power. The chocolate gets milkier as it dries down, and the sillage is pretty light. I can see very easily why this would feel like a cheap imitation to the old heads familiar with the original, and I wish I could smell it for myself. Blind bought this when im in high school, I just want to buy a new perfume because my Clinique Happy was about to run empty. NEW UPDATE, 9/25! Several days later, I gave this a second try. I can't pan a frag this hard and not at least give it as second chance. QFinder Comfortable A little looser than I would have liked but otherwise okay. Washed once and didn't shrink unlike trunks bought from other shops.

There's no Tar smell like people are mentioning, in my opinion. I assumed people were talking about Coal Tar that you'd see churning on the side of the road. I can throw a bone and say there's a Pine-effect but I wouldn't call it tar. The only thing I wanted to give my two cents about it about it being possibly unisex or not. If you had asked me while my husband still had a full bottle I would have answered with a clear 'no'. I adored it on him, but even just one full spritz from the bottle would have been way too strong and sharp for it to be wearable for me. The composition has strong patchouli facets which linger throughout most of the fragrance though all the aforementioned notes have a say, & the "accords" are constantly shifting. Getting the unfortunate feeling that this has been discontinued, which is a shame, because this is so underrated. I used to just like this, but this is so luxurious and easy to wear that I think I'm in love now. That deep, kind of funky dark chocolate is perfect for a chilly, overcast day. Unquestionably unisex, but I think the concept of a candy perfume targeted at men is still genuinely subversive. Maybe that's why they're phasing out the line! The girls love candy cosplay, but maybe the boys still just can't handle the idea of being sexy in an edible way. (To which I say, grow up!) Feels cold, "snowy", utterly original. The mint seems to give a unique "frosting" & this may go some way in explaining the much talked about "metallic" feel?

Very nice, like eating an expensive dark chocolate bar in a deciduous forest after rain. Those lavender-mint notes disappear on my skin, which is a shame, because they're appealingly clean on paper. In any case, this is super wearable, and perfect for a chilly hike or cozy snow day inside.
