About this deal

On the ruins of Soma, which was once the Super-Magic Kingdom of the Elves in the past, the Chaos Dragon appeared and terrorized its surroundings. Sarion Grimwald, the father of Elmesia, who would later found a nation in his namesake, was sent to dispatch it but was defeated in battle. A masked figure in robes approached the dying Chosen Hero who had sustained serious injuries from the Chaos Dragon. Kagali, who went by the name Kazalim at the time, offered to resurrect Sarion, with a risk of losing his memories in the process and becoming her puppet. Sarion acquiesced to this. Using the forbidden spell " Birthday", Kagali unified the tens of thousands of corpses in the surroundings to create a vessel to board the will of Sarion. Sarion became a Deathman, losing his memories in the process. That encounter birthed the "Curse Lord" Kazalim and the "Wonder Pierrot" Laplace. Dark Troupes, on the other hand, appear sinister and vindictive in their actions and the ways in which they finish off their enemies seem cruel, flamboyant and often very violent. A peculiarity that sets the Harlequins apart from their Craftworld and Exodite kin is that they do not bear Spirit Stones. Normally, when an Aeldari dies, their unprotected soul is devoured by Slaanesh in the Warp unless it is preserved inside one of these mysterious gems and joined with an Exodite World Spirit or Craftworld Infinity Circuit. Yet the Harlequins alone possess a secret that allows them to escape Slaanesh's jaws, and it is not one they seem willing to share.

White Dwarf Weekly 53 (31 Jan 2015), "Harlequin Troupe," "The Danse of Death," "Paint Splatter," pp. 4-16, 23-29, 37-45 While Harlequin masques tend to follow a time-honoured structure, established by the followers of Cegorach in ages past, each also has a distinct identity that reaches from their performances and onto the battlefield. For instance, the Masque of the Leaping Stars go to war heralded by the same kaleidoscopic displays that accompany their performances, while the Mourning Mist advance in ghostly silence, as ominous as the shadow of Ynnead from Aeldari legend. A Troupe Master, also known as the "Leaders of the Dance," and the "Avatars of the Laughing God" and athair in the Aeldari Lexicon, are the officers of the Harlequins, with each troupe led by a Troupe Master. Amidst the mayhem of battle, the masque's elite leader choreographs the carnage. Each Troupe Master directs their Players with the skill of an impresario and the strategic genius of a seasoned general.A Mysterious Victor (990.M41) - A Great Harlequin wins the Commorrite Dance of the Blinding Blade, fighting with impossible speed and skill. Whispers abound that this shadowy figure, who vanishes soon after his victory, was none other than Cegorach himself. Troop: Troupe. Ten Models. Truffa, Truffaldin or Truffaldino. Popular characters with Gozzi and Goldoni, but said to be best when used for improvisations. By the 18th century was a Bergamask caricature. [28] Heroes Path (which sees a Death Jester and Shadowseer play the roles of Ulthanash and Eldanesh and a Solitaire embodying their pride) Tear managed to gain the info that Demon Lord Frey feared the return of Charybdis, and shared this info with Clayman. Clayman then offered Frey to eliminate the threat in exchange for a favor. Various troupes and actors would alter his behaviour to suit style, personal preferences, or even the particular scenario being performed. He is typically cast as the servant of an innamorato or vecchio much to the detriment of the plans of his master. Arleqin often had a love interest in the person of Columbina, or in older plays any of the Soubrette roles, and his lust for her was only superseded by his desire for food and fear of his master. Occasionally, Arleqin would pursue the innamorata, though rarely with success, as in the Recueil Fossard of the 16th century where he is shown trying to woo Donna Lucia for himself by masquerading as a foreign nobleman. He also is known to try to win any given lady for himself if he chances upon anyone else trying to woo her, by interrupting or ridiculing the new competitor. His sexual appetite is essentially immediate, and can be applied to any passing woman. [27] A depiction of the Aeldari Laughing God Cegorach, divine patron of the Harlequin and one of the few survivors of the Aeldari Pantheon of gods after the birth of Slaanesh.
