Rignall, Jaz (August 3, 2015). "Rare Replay Xbox One Review: The Ultimate Retro Compilation". USgamer. Archived from the original on August 6, 2015 . Retrieved August 22, 2015.The first objective in the game is to clear all of the Carrier levels, but many more tasks await afterwards. Sideswipe: Nothing difficult here, I find going a bit slower helps to make sure you hit every structure along the way.

The game starts on a world map with only one accessible Carrier level (read below). Beating this level opens the "Easy" set of Carrier levels. When these are beaten, the next set of Carrier levels is opened. Bonus levels are earned by finding and activating communication devices hidden in some levels. And so, the game expands from a single Carrier level to many different levels of two types (Carrier and Bonus).

Best Games of All Time". Electronic Gaming Monthly. No.100. November 1997. p.104. Note: Contrary to the title, the intro to the article explicitly states that the list covers console video games only, meaning PC games and arcade games were not eligible.

Blast Corps was among Rare's first games for the Nintendo 64 and led a run of seven critically acclaimed Rare titles for the console. [4] The game's production began in early 1996. [5] The development team consisted of four recent graduates, though it expanded at times to seven concurrent staff. Martin Wakeley became the game's lead designer. He credited the team's small size for their easy progression from planning to market. Rare founder Chris Stamper was the impetus for the project. He had wanted to make a game about destroying buildings for years prior to Blast Corps 's development. The team worked to fit his idea to a gameplay concept and devised a "Constantly Moving Object" conceit that would give the levels a time limit. This idea became the nuclear missile carrier. [4] Blast Corps led a set of seven critically acclaimed Rare titles developed for the Nintendo 64. RADAR POINTS: You will see the first dish right at the beginning. The other one is on a platform only accessible with J-Bomb. The Sideswipe is an articulated vehicle that destroys its targets by using extending rams on the left and right sides of its rear section. This can be done a limited number of times, and 'ammunition' can be collected on the relevant levels, in a similar way to the missiles for the Ballista. The game was Rare's first game for the Nintendo 64. Its development team ranged between four and seven members, many of whom were recent graduates. The team sought to find gameplay to fit Rare co-founder Chris Stamper's idea for a building destruction game. The puzzle game mechanics were inspired by those of Donkey Kong (1994). As soon as the level starts, with the initial camera angle you will see a barn right in front of you (North east of you if you'd like). Go shoot this barn to reveal the Cyclone Suit, you will be able to take it from here! Apart from a few RDU's that are behind you when you start, there is nothing hidden on this level so just follow the streets around destroying everything. When you're in the Cyclone Suit there are a few places you can stand that will make the camera angle come very low, you can use this to your advantage to scan around for things you may have missed. Players receive medals on a level to show progress. Clearing the path for the carrier earns a gold medal, and then a second medal is given depending on the number of survivors, buildings destroyed, and RDUs collected by the player. After the initial clear, the player can enter the level without a time limit and search for all of the collectables for 100% completion.

Woah woah woah woah woah! What is this?! Before you lies a huge convention center, something so large that only a robot or TNT could demolish! There are no robots available, and there’s no…Geode Square: Whenever these shiny objects move into you they will blow up, so use this tactic for all the ones you can't land on. Note that you don't have to slam them to destroy them, you can just let gravity land you on them to destroy them. All 10 of them are located just here so there is no searching required. Beacon: Follow the road going down to the right and you will find a barn next to it. The beacon is inside of it. RADAR POINTS: At the very beginning, reverse and disembark. It is right behind you. Also, go north on top of the marble hills. There is a path that leads to a road heading southwest. Take the RDU trail to the second satellite point. Sanches, Joao Diniz (2010). "Blast Corps".
