About this deal

Brut was wrecked when Musk Ambrette was withdrawn, but all is not lost as it's still available to those of us that make our own products, or boost what's available for an easy route. When I used to wear it, loads of people used to say "you are wearing brut" and loads of people used to wear it. It's fresh, clean, sexy and masculine, a wealthy uncle used to wear this in the 70s when it came in a glass bottle with a silver medal thing on a chain around the bottle neck, it was so butch and sophisticated! The fragrance features a rush of mint, lemon juice, anise, basil, lavender and jasmine on a base of sandalwood, oak moss, vetiver, patchouli, Tonka bean and vanilla.

These 70-80 gems should be green masculine power fragrances, not weak underlings they made them to be. The truth is that there are two manufacturers for Brut now and the B original Fabarge is the one they get in Europe and I can't remember which company produces the American one. The cloying effect doesn't come from sweetness per se -- modern fragrances are oftentimes much sweeter -- but it has a sickly half-sweet "oiliness" I find disturbing (probably the anise and coumarin). It starts sharp and almost slightly acrid, but settles into my skin for a gentle, warm citrusy-vanilla.Over the years, whenever I have smelled a cologne on a man, young or old, that I have found smelled so good that I had to ask the man what he was wearing, it always turns

Now, I don't know how many of you have fallen through ice in the Antarctic, if you haven't it's good to know that there are few things that will wake you up and electric shock every part of you body like that shivering experience. The fight began and Chuck was puttin a good beating on me with a chop-chop here and chop-chop there. Much like regular Brut, with a distinct "skanky" musk at first (the ghost of musk ambrette), followed by a rapid cloud of fresh, minty lavender and lemon. It was 1 of my first colognes and I think I wore it a lot but didn';t remember what it smelled like.

Avoid the "Special Reserve EdT" at all costs, it is terrible and shouldn't have the name Brut on the bottle. concentration of the original) and because it is such a distinctive DNA, everyone immediately knows the scent that you are wearing. before that, it was generally available in the US, and in the PX of the US-Army facilities all around the world. It could almost be a really good fragrance if it were not for some note that comes across as bad breath when you first put it on and remains right up till the middle notes are gone.

Back then late 80s/early 90s Brut was still a powerhouse that had monstrous projection and silage, the newest offerings however are faint spectres of what it once was.

And now that I've made my confession about my then unfair and short-sighted scent evaluating criteria, I just hope that these old chaps have forgiven me for being such a snobbish and arrogant brat, who used to despise everything that didn't fit in his pompous agendum. In some Brut perfumes (I'm not saying for this bottle, I'm talking about medallions) the basil note is dominant, while in some others the anise note is dominant. My first encounter with it was in high school when some classmates of mine would spray themselves whit it, after physical lol.How a company like but can make a past master like this then some how produce the vile musk is beyond me. I had to wait a long time to review Brut, not that I dislike it or anything, but because I had to learn how to distance myself from it. It seems that a newer reformulation, which comes in a wide green bottle EDT with a sprayer does not have the "powerhouse" juice some people speak of. I guess it was fitting that its last hoorah was being slapped on the face of a young man "Home Alone" not knowing any better in the early 90's.
