The only limit it your imagination! Area #5: This encounter is intended to teach players about weaknesses and resistances. Tell them that before they go into the encounter, and they might put in a little more thought than when they killed the giant rats earlier. Having played multiple games and multiple systems, I was amazed at how well "put together" the Beginner Box is. The Adventure portion of the book is about a quarter of the entire length, meaning that there is a ton of Gamemaster content on building your own adventures like a mini Bestiary and plot hooks The players will need something to represent them on the map. The Beginner Box includes three sheets of cardboard pawns, including some for the pre-generated characters. You can use nearly anything to represent a character on the map, but they should generally fit into a 1-inch square to fit the grid on the flip mats. Coins and lego minifigs both work great as inexpensive miniature replacements, as will pieces from many board games. Play the GameI’m also including the caveat that you can’t go wrong with either product; both are fantastic for getting new players to the table. There are, however, certain advantages across the two products that may sway your decision if you’re trying to dip your toe into either system. In each section, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of each Box, and then declare the ‘winner’ of the category. From there you could use the pregenerated characters (I recommend AGAINST using on the basis that creating one is fun in its own right & is the first step to taking ownership of the experience that you're bringing what YOU created to the game). The book walks you through the process of creating a character. It does this extremely well, not only by guiding you step-by-step but also laying out advice on what would benefit your character, or benefit your play style. It's a brilliant solution for those staring at attributes, skills, feats, etc like a deer in headlights. This is extremely helpful.
