About this deal

During Lo'ak's ikran training session, Lo'ak falls off a cliff, frightening Jake although Neytiri insists the danger is part of the trial. Neytiri is emotionally shaken and weeps in joy that Lo'ak is alive. Later, Jake and Neytiri have a discussion about their children facing and the dangers of the trial. Though they sympathize with each other's viewpoints, Neytiri mentions Jake has been breaking the Three Laws of Eywa by teaching their hunters to use guns made of metal. Jake insists even though he is not human, he still feels he is a marine and that he is still like the Sky People. A third into the book we're in a large gathering of Na'vi when in the center of one panel, as if they're important to the scene, there are suddenly 3 humans dressed like Na'vi (meaning, they stand out very clearly) who we haven't seen before. And then they're never seen again. WTF?! I don't know if this was an art problem or a script problem, but it was weird and confusing. After years of peace, Jake Sully has settled down with Neytiri and raised a family, so for him, the stakes are even higher than when he first went to war against the corporate might of the RDA. Also, I’m just conflicted because it says it’s based on the actual screenplay by James Cameron himself. Does it mean this is canon?

The story stays true to the movie; it is, after all, derived from an original script by James Cameron. This was originally meant to be the beginning of the next movie but instead was turned into a graphic novel prequel with high production values. It has been over a decade since the humans were forced to leave Pandora--but now theyre returning--with an armada of heavily armed starships! After years of peace, Jake Sully has settled down with Neytiri and raised a family, so for him, the stakes are even higher than when he first went to war against the corporate might of the RDA.I thought it was cool to see the in between of the first and second movie. And I love learning more about the kids. It’s cool to see them become their own people and seeing what they’re like as a family. Issue 3 [ ] Jake Sully’s fears have come crashing to Pandora, gun’s blazing. The Sky People are planet-side, and taking Hell’s Gate by storm. Jake and Neytiri’s children are still on base, surrounded and outgunned. He will have to improvise and risk it all to protect his family, his people, and their home. The battle is underway and every Na’vi is in danger. It has been almost a decade since the humans were forced to leave Pandora—but now they’re returning—with an armada of heavily-armed starships!

Brothers (2017) · Tsu'tey's Path (2019) · The Next Shadow (2021) · Adapt or Die (2022) · The High Ground (2022) · So'lek's Journey (2024) Berem zato ker me zanima kakšno zgodbo je imel v načrtu Cameron - naj bi to bil scenarij ki je bil prvotno v načrtu za nadaljevanje, pa ga je potem opustil in nardil The way of water. Sherri has worked in film, animation, comic books and construction. Her books have been listed as Amelia Bloomer, American Library Association Best Books for Young People, and Junior Library Guild Selections. FLYGIRL was the 2009 California Book Awards Gold Medalist. Avatar: The Way of Water” opens in theaters this December, and Cameron has already shot an untitled third movie that is scheduled for 2024. Plus, Cameron is also hard at work on “Avatar 4” and “Avatar 5.”Just like the second movie, I wasn't really crazy about the story. I did love the first Avatar movie and had hoped that the second movie would be way more about the life on Pandora. But the human aspect is way too present. The fighting, the extremely unoriginal storyline really bothers me in both that second movie and this 'story in between the two movies.' Dieses Review bezieht auf die deutsche Version dieses Buchs mit dem Titel Avatar: Blut von Pandora. Band 1, ISBN: 3741630837 Avatar: The High Ground is a three volume graphic novel series from Dark Horse's Avatar comic line. It is set 14 years after the first film and chronologically follows Avatar: The Next Shadow. It is set before Avatar: The Way of Water and follows many of the characters introduced in the film such as Lo'ak, Kiri, Neteyam and Frances Ardmore. Volume 1 of “Avatar: The High Ground” is essentially a graphic-novel-length appetizer for the new “Avatar: The Way of Water” film, recapping what Jake Sully and his family have been up to between the events of the first and second film, while also setting the stage for the narrative that we see unfold in TWOW. Strangely, most of what’s included in Volume 1 is more or less recapped in the new film – honestly, there’s not a TON here that you won’t glean from just watching the new movie. However, with Volumes 2 and 3 promising to not only fill in more narrative gaps, but also – hopefully – serve as more self-contained and original stories in their own rights, it’s possible that Volume 1 is basically just the “ground-setter” of the “High Ground” graphic novel series: necessary to set up the main story, but not wholly exciting on its own terms. With all of that coming down the pike, you might think that Cameron had exhausted all of his ideas for future “Avatar” projects. But you’d be wrong. In a new interview with Total Film, the filmmaker revealed that one of his scrapped ideas for “The Way of Water” has been turned into a new graphic novel, titled “Avatar: The High Ground.”

Nachdem ich Avatar 2 im Kino gesehen hatte, wollte ich über die Figuren und ihr Leben mehr wissen und bin auf diese Comic-Trilogie gestoßen (die übrigens auch canon ist).Cameron eventually realized that certain thematic elements were missing, and it would be impossible to film the story as a true sequel to “Avatar.” Plot [ ] Issue 1 [ ] It has been almost a decade since the humans were forced to leave Pandora - but now they're returning - with an armada of heavily-armed starships! After years of peace, Jake Sully has settled down with Neytiri and raised a family, so for him, the stakes are even higher than when he first went to war against the corporate might of the RDA.

If it was any longer I would have DNF'd it. Boring and confusing. Terrible pacing. The narrative jumps around a lot. The characters' motivations are a mystery. There are a lot of characters whose role in their society, and their purpose in the story, are unexplained. I found it fascinating that Neteyam was the youngest to get his ikran, and Lo’ak failed on his first try. In a council meeting, Jake insists the Na'vi fight and tries to convince Yeyatley to agree, but Yeyatley instead insists the Na'vi offer peace instead. Akwey supports Jake's choice, though before the group can continue debating, it is noticed that Jake's children are gone, with the exception of Neteyam.

During the development process of creating the fourAvatarsequels, a lot of new ideas and stories were created and discussed. One such EPIC original story idea that didn’t make it into the sequels was James Cameron’s original story—“The High Ground.” Cameron shared what he had written with Dark Horse Comics and it is now beingadapted by award-winning author Sherri L. Smith (The Toymaker’s Apprentice,Orleans), and illustrated by Brazilian artist Guilherme Balbi. So for anybody who was wondering just how much we missed in the prologue with Jake and Neytiri growing their family, really not much. I don’t ruled out it might happen in future movies, but here, it seems so out of context. And anyways, why is Jake asking permission to the Olo'eyktan Council if all the warriors are from the Omaticaya clan? His clan?
