The Taurus deck that I bought from you has allowed me to enjoy my sessions in skate parks even more than I had been. Skateboarding is a form of expression - some people want do tricks, some just want to cruise down hills, and others just want to get from A to B. Using the Waterborne with a RKP truck will give you better pumping at high speed with lots of lean – much more than other surfskates.
Generally speaking you are going to have the most fun on a board that you are already comfortable with! It’s certainly an acquired writing taste if you will, but you can master riding it within the first week and after that it’s just an absolute blast.I put the surf adaptor on my Tynee Stinger which is a cruiser type e-board and it totally transforms the feel of the board. No worries though, if Waterborne has a better deal, definitely get it direct, there's no special deal with them except that Patrick is a great guy!It feels like there are cushions under both feet, lending the board to confidently turn tightly even on rough concrete. The two adapters use different systems (bushing-based vs spring-based) and hence provide very different land surfing experiences.The main difference between them is that Waterborne uses a urethane bushing while Yow has a mechanical spring. My guess would be that if you are looking to learn or practice a lot of surf cuts and turns, then a drop board is not likely to allow you the ability to shift your weight off the nose and onto the tail to mimic riding a surf board.
I had already top mounted the trucks for maneuverability, and so with the Waterbourne adapters it rides pretty high, which I have not minded. Surf skating is a skateboarding style that involves surf-style carving and surf-like maneuvers on land. You can further customize the feel of your Surfskate by swapping the bushings in your Surf Adapter and Rail Adapter. The skateboard Surf and Rail adapters also give you added suspension and a dampened ride on any kind of terrain thanks to the rubber bushings they use.Waterborne's Surf Adapter is the newest system and the only one that uses a high rebound urethane bushing, just like a skate truck. if you already own a skateboard all you need is this adapter kit to transform your board to a surf skate. Swelltech surf skate with its Jamie O'Brien pro model boasts the V-truck which can spin 360 degrees, but this makes them extremely unstable at medium or high speed and nearly impossible to use as a practical mode of transportation. I have been skating a 7,8 deck + penny wheels all my life just to chill, I added recently the waterborne adapter to my setup and the skateboard feels amazing! The rear truck hence leans as much as the front, making the back of your skateboard behave more like a surfboard’s tail with the fins.
