Children work in small independent groups of up to six, each taking turns to be the leader as they read and discuss a book together. I said this to say that this might have been a bad choice on my part when coming off of a syrupy sweet December marathon! Behind the smile and bubbly personality of Youtube blogger sensation, Kyra Aberdeen lies a broken girl with emotional and physical scars to prove it.

With a fun plot and a lot of character development, Heartbreakers and Fakers was a cute story about finding what really makes you happy. The book wasn't very realistic in the life altering effects of those problems, BUT the book never claimed to be, nor was it written as, a medical text book on Mental Health issues. Faker does not just stop there though; the book digs to the heart of the problem with portraying ourselves in a variety of different ways in hopes of personal fulfillment.

After he left, she did something that sent her to the hospital, when Hale came back, he had to see what it was himself and it broke him down.

Now, grown she has purchased a house that needs renovating, and she hires a construction company owned by two brothers, Cade and Hale. The book digs deep and engages the reader with a clearly unpacked picture of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The whole premise seemed a bit awkward and unnecessary, and the drama of faking didn’t seem to be enough to base a story on. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. I hated the fact that the only thing that maybe could've stopped Kyra from harming herself was kept from her by her grandmother. I loved getting to read part of the book from his POV because I learned he was funny, and kind, and had made some past mistakes that he wanted to correct.

He wasn’t angry and brooding as is so often portrayed in similar characters, but he was fun and encouraging and lovable. But I was so happy to see her come out of her shell and realize that she doesn’t need to work so hard for people to like her or change herself to fit in. Whether your interest is in short cons, heart-string pulling scams, mind-bending spoons, carnival games, science, medicine or war, FAKERS makes sure to touch on it all. Last year, I unexpectedly really enjoyed The Best Laid Plans, so I was so excited for this author’s next release. In his book Faker: How to Live for Real When You’re Tempted to Fake It, McDonald tackles the core issues of identity and being real.

She has to try to work her way through the emotions that surface with this, running into her grandmother, and also her feelings for Hale. In nine topical chapters, this volume describes the ways in which people have swindled one another on the street, in their personal relationships, and in the media.

Journeying into the heart of our fake world, Maliszewski tells tales of the New York Sun’s 1835 moon hoax as well as his own satiric contributions to a newspaper—pieces written, unbeknownst to its editor, while the author worked there as a reporter. In this lively look at the history of human trickery, Wood takes readers on a tour of cons, frauds, hoaxes, impersonations, and scams. And she also finds the rest of the neighbors to be nosy old ladies, who want to rule the street, tell her who she should be friends with, and also complain about the garden in the front of the house because its so overgrown. Fake dating already usually has funny scenes, when the couple has to convince everyone else, but I really liked their dialogue. Faker brings depth and life to the well known parable of the pharisee and tax collector, in such a way that forced me to consider Jesus' truth in my own life.Interesting how the characters move to a new place and immediately find their best friend and love of their life within a day or two. Profiles of con artists will get readers thinking about motivation and consequence, and practical tips will help protect them from falsehoods. I defy anyone to not feel great after they have read this story, even more if they had the pleasure of listening to it from Michael Dean's voice. Hale is the protector of both his brother and his mother, but has anger issues and hates 'fakers' on principle, and Kyra is a perfect example. This book takes a look at some of the deceptions that have been and still are being practiced in human society.
