About this deal

The Feelings Book will explain to kids that their feelings will always change, and that’s ok. Sometimes they will feel like dressing up, and sometimes they will feel like crying or camping with the dog, and sometimes they will feel like doing nothing at all. Your kids need to learn that they should share their feelings no matter how they feel. The emotions listed in this book are really silly, and the art style is bold and colorful, so younger children will love reading this book. One study I read also gave the example of an award-winning actor. They would never show emotions like an emoji face. And we often don’t either. Again, be careful with broad generalizations.

They hold each other up, make each other better people, and they treat one another like the treasures that they are.

I still remember the day when my first research paper got published and I got the best paper and presenter award, I was surprised. I was surprised to see that despite having such great research papers and presenters in the session, I was given the award. Uses rhyming text, thoughtfully chosen metaphors and sweet illustrations to bring each feeling to life. This book does not work as a read-aloud. The rhymes are awkward. Although feelings are introduced, there are no coping strategies given. It’s a bit of a mature presentation of the topic considering the illustrations show kids who look to be 5 or 6. A lovely, interactive guide to help children learn to name their feelings and the physical sensations that accompany each one.

Walden compares each feeling to something in nature, using a distinct color palette. The rhyming verses work well, but follow no particular meter scheme from line to line. A good springboard to a discussion about feelings -- what they feel like, how to recognize them, how to express them. Meyer and his daughter Hazel have been everything to her since they came into her life three years ago. So, all joking aside, the stakes really are high when it’s not only her career, but both of those relationships on the line. The boy tries to cope by stuffing down his feelings, but with a little help and artistic inspiration, the boy realizes his feelings are something to be celebrated. Written by picture book author Britney Winn Lee and boldly illustrated by Jacob Souva, this book is a perfect companion to The Girl With Big, Big Questions.

One of the most challenging aspects of childhood is feeling strong emotions, and learning about how best to understand and manage those emotions.

also, ever since Cade Eaton (Heartless), i keep comparing older, single dad heroes to him. the H of this book didnt even come close. i mean, hes a sweetheart. consent is sexy and all. but sometimes i wish he’d been bolder, more forward, and spontaneous with his love language (physical touch/affection) without overthinking the h’s reaction or how it was going to be received. on another note, what happened with the “fake dating for PR stunt” plot?? i feel like it was just a plot device and not an actual plotline? i thought the third act conflict would have smth to do with it—it didnt. i understood the h’s anger, but i also feel like she overreacted. im glad they didnt blow it out of proportion and was able to sort it out like the mature, adult they were. The romance is beautiful with so much tension! I'm not a huge fan of friends to lovers, but this one really was perfect. I love that they were only friends for a few years and decided (on their own) to keep things professional. Because during that time, these two were able to develop a deep love and respect for one another. Try to walk in someone's shoes to see how they might feel. For though you cannot see them, feelings are still strong and real”. Sadness can be scary and confusing at any age! When we feel sad, especially for long periods of time, it can seem as if the sadness is a part of who we are–an overwhelming, invisible, and scary sensation. I have been in such a bad reading slump but I finished this book in one day because of how amazing it was. I adored Farley and Meyer so much. Their relationship was a breath of fresh air. Their funny banter, small touches, and vulnerability made my heart so happy. Also getting to see them go from friends to lovers gave me butterflies, I was so invested in their story and the way it ended was so beautiful.
