That FPV video is an excellent test for your sound system, my subwoofer scared the hell out of me when I first watched it with the volume at the level I usually watch video's at... So after going through pretty much every issue clear-coating you could imagine--dry spraying (not enough clear), fish-eyes (unexpected contamination of the clear resulting in spots), a few minor dust nibs (those were pretty easy, just wet-sand them out) and a few runs (clear went down too wet), I think I experienced and learned from every mistake you could make. Fortunately most of the mistakes eventually were mostly fixable with a lot of elbow-grease and wet-sanding, followed by polishing. Thirdly, the Spartan comes with a precision-tuned TQi 2.4GHz radio system that allows for interference-free control of the boat from up to 300 feet away. Not really impressed with the FT012 at this point, it just screams cheap toy, albeit a fast one. Leaks like a sieve, the rudder is cheap beyond pale. The hull design isn't right for the power either, I'd give up some speed for more stability and handling. On the other hand, I put a FT012 prop on the SR48 and it pretty much pushes the boat to it's design limits, not much slower than the FT and a lot more stable.

I was able to get the boat going again after pairing it but it only ran into the middle of pond then stopped. After it drifted to shore battery voltage was down to 5.54 volts. Now I'm beginning to think the battery is no good. I have two boats in this price range, the Volantrex SR48 and the FT012. I bought the SR48 first, then I bought two FT012s, thinking I'd swap out the electronics from one into the SR48 for giggles. I also saw a few videos where the FT012 doesn't self right easily. Again, not an issue on the FT009. BL2815 is 36mm in diameter, which is too large for the 17" FT012. Not gonna work. I think it was the 24" FT011 they were trying it on.
