We did notice some coil whine in the upper left of the bottom panel, but it isn't audible above normal room noise.This Ideapad should be able to handle most rudimentary tasks, but running too many programs at once can cause the machine to lock up due to the limited memory. With a 2-cell (32 watt hours) battery supporting our review unit, the IdeaPad 120S lasted a decent 7 hours and 43 minutes in our Laptop Mag Battery Test (continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi).
