In the 2007 film Dead Silence (which is made by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the creators of the Saw films), one of the puppets, who appears on the film's poster and wears the same outfit as Jigsaw's puppet, is named Billy. The Saw puppet is also seen in the movie for a brief second, in a shot that reveals all of Mary Shaw's puppets in the attic above the theater. Officially licensed Saw merchandise, this Billy puppet is an exact replica of the ones used in the horror franchise. It was designed by the master of puppets (sorry, had to), and owner of The Scary Closet, Mark Anthony. It’s fully poseable and even has Billy’s suit, gloves, and sparkly shoes. Due to being a mechanical construction, Billy was able to move on his own. Most of the time, Jigsaw used video recordings of him to inform his victims about their situation. However, at times, Billy also appeared to the victims in person and occasionally rode an old red tricycle John had used in his childhood. ( Saw IV) Children who observed the aggressive model made far more imitative aggressive responses than those who were in the non-aggressive or control groups. Experiments are the only means by which cause and effect can be established. Thus, it could be demonstrated that the model did have an effect on the child’s subsequent behavior because all variables other than the independent variable are controlled.

During the 1960s, Albert Bandura conducted a series of experiments on observational learning, collectively known as the Bobo doll experiments. Two of the experiments are described below: Aim Rapper Hopsin's album Raw depicts Hopsin on a tricycle with his face painted to look like Billy. The album's title itself can be interpreted as a spoof of the film's title. Billy is in the video game Dead by Daylight as a prop as part of the Saw chapter. He appears sitting on the character-specific prop boxes that appear in maps when the player chooses "The Pig", a licensed character from Saw (who is Amanda Young in her Jigsaw apprentice reliefs). Bobo doll experiment demonstrated that children are able to learn social behavior such as aggression through the process of observation learning, through watching the behavior of another person.
