About this deal

In her struggle to transform the decaying house into a home, Isabel uncovers an inner resilience she never knew existed. Along the way, lives intertwine, passions ignite, and Isabel embarks on a journey of self-discovery, finding the strength to compose a new melody for her heart. Years later, another young woman arrives in Merham. Daisy Parsons, a talented designer, is tasked with revitalizing the now-abandoned Arcadia. Seeking a fresh start and escaping a shattered relationship while bracing for single motherhood, Daisy finds solace within the house’s walls. Amidst her restoration work, she discovers not only a rekindled love she thought was lost forever but also an extraordinary friendship that defies expectations. The story revolves around the lives of a number of characters, which I always enjoy. I like there to be more than one POV, and feel it often helps to round out the story and flesh out the figures.

Isabel didn’t really know how to do much of anything other than take care of her own self, so she was a bit dysfunctional when left to her own devices, or being available for her teenage children. Summary: Believable characters in a moving family drama of bereavement, deception, and obsessions with an old house. The plot devices get repetitive: everyone has a crush on everyone. Everybody is cheating. All of them are emotional drama queens. A tragic accident forces her to drastically change from an ineffectual mother into a grown up and take charge of hers and her childrens' lives. She inherits a dilapidated old mansion in the middle of nowhere and uprooting her family moves in. The local builder and close neighbour has coveted the mansion for years and pretending to be their friend in reality does all he can to make them leave, with disastrous consequences.

Sarah’s world transforms when her grandfather gifts her a magnificent horse named Boo. Amidst the gritty streets of London, she secretly trains with the hope of joining an esteemed French riding school. However, life takes an unexpected turn when her grandfather falls ill, forcing Sarah to balance her passion for horsemanship with school and hospital visits.
