Unn reveals to Siss that her mother died of an illness six months earlier and that even at eleven years old she does not know who her father is. Siss is allowed to go to Unn's by herself, despite the winter-darkness, because the way is almost like that to school.

The story is interesting and something I would like to revisit again and the actresses playing the main roles did a great job whoever I feel the movie held a slow pace seeming to move along at little more than a crawl. We acknowledge (and remind and warn you) that they may, in fact, be entirely unrepresentative of the actual reviews by any other measure. She never knew her father and recently lost her mother, and now she has moved here to live with her Auntie. In this case, the few present bits of dialogue are delivered in a seemingly stiff and distant way, creating a vivid sense of alienation.With snow 365 days a year, even if little legs don’t make it far beyond the cable car station, you can take in superb panoramic views of the mountains on the 3250 metre terrace and arrange a family snowball fight. It is inside of this ice palace structure unspoiled by nature that Unn is able to meditate on her feelings about her mother, her father, her new friendship with Siss, and her inherent loneliness.
