Husqvarna Automower 415X constantly cuts the grass as it grows. This is by far the gentlest way to cut grass. Whereas ordinary mowing usually takes off several centimetres of clippings which are then collected and removed, the clippings from Husqvarna Automower 415X are only a few millimetres long. They will fall to the soil, mulch and fertilise your lawn, making it the ideal automatic lawn mower for your garden, no matter the size. On the underside of the 415X are its cutting blades: these are essentially three razor blades that spin around on a large metal disk. The blades are designed to last 3-4 months, depending on how often you mow your lawn. If the robot lawn mower detects uncut areas with grass of a certain height, it will make a circular motion and extend that circle for each lap – just like some of the robot vacuum cleaners do. You can set the intensity of this feature. The intensity setting determines how tall the grass has to be to trigger the feature. This feature works really well. And the neat part is that you can keep the mowing schedule to a minimum if you use it since the spiral motion will help determine if Automower 415X has missed any areas.Husqvarna Automower 415X cost around 2700 USD. If you don’t have a boundary wire and guide wire installed on the lawn, you also need to buy an installation kit containing wire and staples. The cost is around 160-360 dollars depending on how much wire and staples you need for your lawn. There are settings such as how far you want the robot to travel over the boundary wire before turning around, which is important since you want the edges to be mowed too. There is sadly no edge cutting option, but the “drive past wire” feature will mow the edge anyway so it’s not really a problem. Husqvarna’s automower app gives you access to additional features of the 415X, but it’s not as comprehensive as the apps you’ll find with some of the best robot vacuums. Within the Husqvarna app, you can create a schedule for when it should mow your lawn, adjust the cutting height, and view statistics of how often the mower cut your grass.
