I think this is one of those cases where "its not you, its me" applies. This rather sad tale just didn't grab me. There was nothing wrong with it, Joy Ellis is a fine writer but I just didn't enjoy it as much as her other books that I've read so far. Saverio Costanzo, who shaped the show and directed most episodes of its first two seasons, serves as executive producer, along with Paolo Sorrentino, Jennifer Schuur,Elena Recchia and Guido De Laurentiis. The story and screenplays are by Elena Ferrante, Francesco Piccolo, Laura Paolucci and Costanzo. I had the 'Karate kid' which was beef, bacon, American cheese, deep fried goats cheese and chilli jam. I'm very glad I decided not to go for the double burger as it was difficult enough to eat as it was!Good patty. Lovely well cooked bacon. Really good deep fried goats cheese and a crazy amount of sweet chilli sauce! All in a really fresh soft bun.When something terrible happened, there was always more than one victim. Disaster had a ripple effect., like a pebble thrown into a lake, drawing in many more people than those directly involved."

My wife got the standard bacon cheese burger which was also really nice. Still messy and had loads of friends onions in which were really nice. What I love about Ellis is you tend to root for all the characters. This is key because I got really mad towards the end … and then while sorting my thoughts on it I felt like I crashed head first into the ending. The characters are still wonderful, the narration great, but the storyline itself...very depressing.

Big and open with a high ceiling, and the women working was very pleasant. Sad people, sad conditions, sad introductory chapter. Most of all, as I mentioned above, an innocent dog is killed. I know that may not be an issue for some people, but I found it really upsetting to read. In the past I have found these books somewhat uplifting. They carry adrenalin throughout, but always end well, with a pleasant result. This ending was entirely melancholy and left me feeling very down.

(This says quite a bit about me wanting to push through this store to find out what happened next because it’s narrated by my FAVE narrator and I ditched him lol) Zwar habe ich noch keinen Kriminalroman von Joy Ellis gelesen, doch der Klappentext hat mich sofort neugierig gemacht. Was in the area on Saturday and my friend who lives nearby said that they were having burgers at the weekend and suggested we eat there.Do I even have to bother mentioning how amazing Richard Armitage is at this point? His array of voices are incredible – even his female voices are impressive and his ‘old people’ voices are jaw dropping. Best voice actor I’ve heard on Audible, and that’s quite the compliment. (Their Lost Daughters is by far the best to date) However perhaps I am just being sensitive. To those who do not get so attached to the characters (and their pets), I'm sure this would be enjoyable.
