The Macro Editor, in turn, supports a range of interesting features, such as adding sounds, and the ability to place a pair of macros on a single key. (In the latter scenario, one macro activates when you press down, one when you release.) This is very helpful if you're alternately firing and kiting in a MOBA, or swapping between a pair of guns in a shooter or action title. Not that our fingers are normally given to slipping off a spacebar, or that a normally sized bar is hard to find, but this can't hurt.

The highlight feature of the K68 RGB is its water resistance. Corsair manages this by surrounding the key switches with rubber housings. The RGB lights are also nestled underneath that same translucent wrapper, which creates an entrancing diffuse glow. The lighting is as good as we’re used to seeing on Cherry switches, with well lit characters at the top of the keycaps and the lower half of the keycaps being not so well lit. If you are experiencing unexpected behavior with your keyboard such as lighting issues or unresponsiveness, you can try resetting the keyboard to fix the issue.

But just how water-resistant it is, and what Corsair means by "dust-resistant," are relevant factors, matters that we'll discuss in our Features section. Performance Testing and ConclusionWe tested the K68 across a range of games in different genres: DOTA 2 (our staple MOBA), Grim Dawn (representing the action RPGs), Ashes of Singularity (an RTS), Torment: Tides of Numenera (a more sedate RPG), and Endless Space 2 (a turn-based strategy game). Our reactions were a mirror of those we've had using several previous Corsair keyboards, including those mentioned earlier in this review. You can remap any key, as the legends suggest, including the numeric-function ones, and even enhanced keys such as the arrow keys, Insert, and Home. Want to move any of the K68's seven media keys anywhere else on the keyboard? Add a timer, or text strings? Launch an application by pressing a key? You can do these things, as well. There's also a profile-switching option, because like so many Corsair keyboards, this one lets you store an unlimited number of executable-specific profiles on your drive. This is a handy feature when you're playing a game that has mini-games with different rule sets, where you would benefit from changing the key layout. It feels like there may be slightly more travel before the key actuates, so we can more comfortably rest our fingers on the keys without a misfire. This makes the gaming and typing experience wholly satisfactory. Put simply, the Cherry MX Red switches have a great feel, and CUE2 is the best current configuration tool in the business if you're really serious about shortcuts and elaborate machinations. We especially like being able to configure an unlimited number of game-specific profiles, so that completely different macro sets load when we play DOTA 2, Grim Dawn, and Ashes of Singularity. We were also pleased that Corsair adds the ability to turn all its lighting fluff into something a dedicated gamer will find useful, via macros.
