About this deal

NOTE: BMW G310GS & YAMAHA T7 TENERE REQUIRES OUR LEFT-HAND THREADED ADAPTOR ON THROTTLE SIDE TO MOUNT DOUBLETAKE MIRRORS.

What makes the Doubletake mirror so intriguing though – and what gained popularity with dirt riders – was the fact that you’re able to fold the mirrors in once you hit the trail. Doubletake’s first product, the enduro mirror, had major success for rider’s with dual-sport bikes like the KTM 500 EXC, Suzuki DR650, KLX250, and the like. Folks could legally ride to the trail, then fold the mirror in close to the handlebar to prevent damage in the instance of a tip over. We do not charge you a fee for our services. Whichever lender we introduce you to, we will typically receive commission from them (either a fixed fee or a fixed percentage of the amount you borrow). Negatives are, its tall but lowering kit sorted that, it is heavy, especially fully loaded when stationary but once moving it feels light. In the warmer months, the engine gives off a lot of heat, uncomfortable when stationary. I found standard mirrors in effective (blurred vision) so changed to double take ones. Some riders may find the narrow 21inch front wheel a bit twitchy. In off-road mode the XCA is just as at home, sorting out the traction control etc, the Tiger has stood up to being dropped, Heed engine bars help here!! The product meets each of the goals I started out with, and after thousands of miles of testing, has proven to be exactly what I was looking for all those years!"

New version of the incredibly successful Doubletake Mirrors made specifically for those Adventure Bikes which spend more time on the tarmac. Less vibration and more solid fixing to stop the mirror moving at high speed due to wind blast. First, because there are two ball joints, you have the ability to position it exactly where you want it, both when extended for viewing, and also when folded away. Starting on the technology side, the XRx gets switchable ABS (with extra functions over the XR), switchable traction control and four throttle maps – Rain, Sport, Road, Off-road – alongside three riding modes (Road, off-road and Programmable). The throttle maps alter how the throttle responds while the power maps alter the ABS, traction control and map settings in one hit. In Programmable mode you can set your own choice of ABS, TC and throttle map. Unlike the base XR, the x gets cruise control as standard alongside a trip computer, which adds journey time, average speed, average fuel economy, fuel consumption and range until empty to the standard bike’s dash display, which has a fuel gauge and gear indicator. In terms of accessories, hard luggage is a very good extra and Triumph’s own aluminium panniers and top box are very popular alongside heated grips and a taller screen. A few owners go for aftermarket seats and replacement end cans but in general Tigers are left pretty standard with only crash protection another common addition alongside an auto chain lube system. The longer 3″ extension arms allow you to adjust the mirrors out to the sides giving you a better view of what’s behind you. That it could fold completely out of the way, safe from giving or receiving damage when offroad and,

I have changed the brake/clutch levers to short ones, giving more control & protected these with Storm Barkbusters, converted rims to tubeless, with Avon TrekRiders 50/50 tyres & fitted a prefilter which makes the engine breathe easier and gives better throttle response. I have also had the suspension set up for me. This brand new version of the incredibly successful Double Take Mirror made specifically for the Adventure Bikes that spend more time on the tarmac. Less vibration and more solid fixing to stop the mirror moving at high speed due to wind blast This mirror is the product of much frustration- I spent years breaking other designs and wondering what was going on behind me on the road. One small annoyance we experienced with the Double Take folding dual sport mirrors was that they sometimes lost their adjustment after riding at higher speeds. The mirrors stayed in place under 80 mph but when traveling any faster, the constant wind pressure would start to push them out of adjustment. Cranking down the twist lever made this occur less frequently. The new 'Adventure' design uses a wider mirror for better rearward vision, and features a shorter ball connection and corresponding longer RAM arm for better stability at speed and on continuous rough terrain.Ideally, it would even have some ability to give in a crash and prevent damage not only to the mirror, but also to the bike. The breakaway design of the Double Take mirrors makes it possible to ride off-road safely without folding down the mirrors. Last fall, when I dropped my bike and found myself buying two(!) new master cylinders as a result, and I decided it was time to make a really good mirror, one that would function well as a mirror, and also protect the bike (and me) from damage.
