That’s right! Each player is actually dead and they are now responsible for figuring out the who, the how, and the why of their murder. Players are given an evidence board, a dry erase marker, and one card from each category: Suspect, Weapon, Motive.
11. Superstition (1977)
Each turn, the ghost player hands each guesser one or two picture cards to help them guess the right person, place or item. The ghost flips the hourglass timer over and the guessers chat between themselves to help each other to guess the correct option. My favourite card in the game is “New Rule: UUUUNGH… You must groan like a Zombie every time you draw a Zombie Creeper. If you fail to do this, and someone points it out, that player gets to move one of their Creepers over to you.” We like to role play as the characters as we play the game, just for fun. I put on a deep, serious New York style accent while my boyfriend makes his voice high-pitched and speaks like an American from Texas. It’s hilarious. Ghosted is a family-friendly deduction game for 3-6 players, aged 10+, with a playing time of around 30 minutes. A mix of Cluedo and Guess Who.
It’s really that simple and that straight-forward. The challenge is when you’re feeling pressured to make the proper recognition and grab a piece before any of the other players. We have a few whodunnit board games that require players to use logic and deduction skills to work out who committed a crime, and we really enjoy them. We love taking on the role of a detective to piece together the clues and evidence to catch the wrongdoer. Ghosted, from Big G Creative,is family deduction game with a twist – rather than a game of whodunnit it is more of a game of BOO-dunnit! If you’re playing it over several nights you’ll want to assign someone to be the Mayor to keep the game moving along, make the days 5 minutes each and to support the other roles you can add into the game.

Scales of Justice – you can guess one weapon, one suspect and one motive and the other players can tell you how many you have got correct – but not which ones!In this spirited spooky fun detective game, all players take on the role of a spirited ghost and must solve their own murder through a process of deduction and elimination, asking questions and gathering evidence, what their motive was, and the murder weapon used – with the aim to be first to solve their own murder. A perfect game to get kids and families into the Halloween ‘spirit’. Some locations on the board have special markers for Relics and Popular Places. These give extra special abilities to their owners like conquering a new region with fewer units or bonus points at the end of your turn. Each time an Omen is found, you roll special haunt dice to see if you’ve triggered the haunt. The more Omens you’ve found as a group, the more likely that you’ll trigger the haunt. Suspense builds with every haunt roll. It’s the 1920s in Arkham and portals are opening up tearing apart the barrier between this world and the world of the Ancient Ones! Monsters are coming through the portals and scaring everyone! There is also randomness in the dice rolling but it's mitigated by Tao tokens that you can acquire and other abilities. Rather than the randomness making or breaking a game, it's a factor that should be incorporated into your strategy. Essentially, if you're always hoping for a perfect dice roll, you're probably doing something wrong.
