To me it does not smell like Hypnotic Poison - there is a bit of a greenness and freshness in Amour's powderiness, whereas Hypnotic Poison is much more creamier and almondy. You can get a full size each of the Warm Vanilla Sugar fragrance mist, shower gel, and lotion for less than what you'd pay for a full size of Kenzo Amour. Not sure how I feel about this, it takes a few minutes for the scent to develop on the skin, and then it is warm, powdery and yes, like slightly milky rice.

The final dry down is actually quite comfy and cozy, like hay and a little really discreet vanilla touch. The weather is crappy, we have yet another storm coming in this winter, I'm still working on becoming a full time artist, my relationship is on crossroads and in many ways I'm still lost. I lived in Indonesia for almost 8 years so my family used to travel to Bali often, and I can tell you that the rice, the frangipani flowers, the tea, the incense all depict Bali perfectly.

I regret selling this (I only wore heavy-hitters in the Black Orchid/Killian Back to Black arena back then--lots of tobacco, oak moss, etc,) so much that I just repurchased that beautiful white modernist bottle.

I like JHAG Vanilla Vibes but it feels at once too aggressive and a little bland, somehow, but the blend on Amour is reminiscent of Vanilla Vibes with a little more thoughtfulness put into it. The incense and tea notes give it a nice kick but you can't really pick them out because of the great blending. Would consider purchasing if it had greater sillage and longevity, since I appreciate perfumes with a bit more intensity for myself. Edit: I have been wearing Kenzo Amour for a few days now, and the muskiness is overwhelmingly strong to the point that I don't enjoy this perfume any more. Perfumes are often designed with top, middle and base notes, and designed to smell different based on the time after application.That being said I only have a sample so hopefully when I have a full bottle, I can douse myself and my clothes thoroughly and get more performance out of this. This would perfectly suit that person who does what they want when they want - other's opinions be damned! After half an hour or so, the incense has weakened enough for the other notes to become more noticeable. The smell is soft and creamy but reminds me of gone off milk sort of with flowers mixed in , I don’t particularly plan to repurchase .
