About this deal

First of all you need to let the forum know what is your expectation and why are you trying to use any product for that matter on a ceramic coted car. How is the coating performing on the rest of the panels apart from hood and boot? Is the Hydrophobicity and Shine still intact? Sonax, are Europes largest manufacturer of car care & detailing products.Although relatively unknown in the UK, Sonax are one of the leading automotive brands for car care & detailing products within Europe, and with over 60 years experience. Now coming to the Sonax BSD as @Abhi said its most effective as a standalone product. It offers more protection than shine. Gyeon Bathe+ car shampoo is a SiO2 based car shampoo and adds a layer of SIo2 during the wash which means additional protection and some shine.

I would in fact go to an extent that BSD is the most economical way to keep topping the protection and gloss. Taking a wild guess if its for more Hydrophobicity and Shine then the ceramic is already providing you one ,If you want to enhance both you can use products which are SiO2 based and are designed for Ceramic coated cars. In my constant endeavour to try different products this time I set my eyes on Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer. Why did you go with this, because in my opinion The Turtle wax Ice seal and shine is way superior, and with the turtle wax brand launched just a few months ago, availability and price isn't an issue.Perhaps you can monitor the amount of time it will take with regular maintenance for BSD to ear off. Purpose of using this product was purely to get the pop effect on white paint and i am satisfied with it.

To test the durability and longevity I will only do a rinseless wash for the next month or so UNLESS the vehicle gets solied during rains.

Now BSD was something which came into the picture long after I applied the 1st coat of Carpro Hydr02 and when it had started showing signs of I had recently tried 2 of their products( Sonax Xtreme Wheel Cleaner,Sonax Xtreme Matt Effect)and was really amazed by the results. I did some research online to ensure that it won't affect the coating and most of the detailers whom i queried were positive on applying BSD on top of the ceramic coat. This got me thinking though - how much actual protection does BSD give? I mean I know the water behaviour is very good, but that's not everything as we all know. What I'd like to find out is how well it protects the paint against UV, water spotting, etc. Or is it simply that it is purely designed to go over existing protection and offer a highly hydrophobic water behaviour? Strangely the comparison was being done with products which are priced almost double than BSD which caught my attention.
