About this deal

Boarding Actions games use different rules for line of sight, cover, and visibility. Many of these will be familiar to Kill Team players who have played games in the Gallowdark.

Second, if the unit’s minimum size is five then you can either use it as a minimum size unit or include additional models so long as the Starting Strength of the unit is 10. Note that for the most part, 10-model units are then split into Boarding Squads of five models before deployment. The Arks of Omen are a series of Warhammer 40,000 books that, along with containing details of the next stage of the 40K narrative, also include new rules for playing, focused on the included narrative campaign. This book also has rules for using the Killzone Shadowvaults upgrades in your boarding action games which is nice to see. What’s not so nice to see is that, instead of having easy rules for how to deploy these in normal missions, there are set locations to put these if you pay for them in your list. None of these are particularly powerful, but they can be nice list fillers. The standout here is the humble Searchlight, which gives a unit reroll 1’s against something within line of sight and 9” of it. Outflank lumbering opponents with the Sicaran Venator Tank Hunter***, a nimble armoured vehicle fitted with a neutron beam laser. It’s the perfect candidate for speeding ahead of your main force and tearing through the vulnerable side and rear armour of hapless enemy war machines.Rob: I think Sunshark bombers probably still have play with this change, since the chances you’d put them in reserves anyways were pretty high, but they may also just get pushed out by triple riptide lists. Armour Of Contempt Condit: For everyone other than Norman and Greg, though, this book will be pretty neat, I guess. If you’ve been hankering to get one of the factions whose rules are included here into a boarding actions game, the offerings here are all at the minimum solid options that are evocative of their Edge of Silence • War Zone Charadon ( Act I • Act II) • War Zone Octarius ( Book I • Book II) • War Zone Nachmund ( Vigilus Alone • Rift War) • Crusade ( Beyond the Veil • Plague Purge • Amidst the Ashes • Containment • Catastrophe • Wars of Faith) • Arks of Omen ( Abaddon • Angron • Vashtorr • Farsight • The Lion) You can paint the gold with Retributor Armor and the face with Cadian Fleshtone , and add depth to both with Reikland Fleshshade . Paint the metallic elements with Iron Hands Steel , the Watchers’ robes and wax seals with Barak-Nar Burgundy , and finish it all off by shading them with Nuln Oil . Arks of Omen: The Lion

The answer to the proliferation of tanks on the battlefields of the Horus Heresy is clear – more tanks, but fitted with neutron lasers capable of obliterating enemy armour in a single shot. First up is the Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyer, an adaptation of the Spartan chassis with a triple-barrelled neutron laser battery that can take a hefty dose of punishment while spitting out radioactive death. Sicaran Venator Tank Hunter Arks of Omen is an in-universe event for the 9th Edition of Warhammer 40,000. [1] Games Workshop Description The reason Big Azrael is so good now despite only minor actual changes is that he was already good – Dark Angels have been on a tear lately, which as you may recall I did predict , and a good chunk of those lists have Azrael in them. Dark Angels didn’t need the help, but they got it anyway, because they deserve it, for being the best. I’m actually fine with the relatively minor glow up, because Big Azrael still does the same stuff as before, he’s just slightly better at it. Beanith: My best guess is the Angron book will contain the Faction-specific content and rules for Chaos Marines, Space Marines & Imperium; Vashtorr will cover Chaos Daemons, Admech and probably have the Necrons shoehorned in somehow. The 4th book is unnamed but ‘will be a distinctly xenos affair’, which I assume is code for it will be some horrific Xenos mashed burrito.

Mission Rule Changes

I can even see it being used in small ‘side missions’ in ongoing campaigns. All of the missions have an Underdog Bonus which can just as easily be given to the side with the lower Crusade Point total if you can’t be bothered to work out your points total. I would also suggest using the Combat Squads rule when you need to split up your 10 man squads even if your unit is missing that particular ability. It’s cool that Vashtorr spent a bunch of time working on his little plan and setting all his cute traps, but he absolutely came to the wrong place to try and run that hustle. You can’t Home Alone the Dark Angels on their own turf, my guy.

Most of this is really cool, and we’re pretty enthusiastic to see what people do with it (especially the new ease of taking Lords of War). The only thing we don’t love are some of the “missing” soup options, and the Votann option feeling unlikely to have healthy impacts – because it comes at a price, you’re basically only going to do it if the raw maths on the Votann tools results in them being boring but effective killing machines. Otherwise, Wings is chomping at the bit to see what happens in Competitive Innovations when these new rules are unleashed, and in combination with the Balance Dataslate and point changes, there should be some huge shakeups. Vashtorr is an independent daemonic entity, the demigod of inventors, engineers, scientists, and artisans. He is the extremity of innovation, of imagination and creation unbound by ethics or morals. Vashtorr gains power whenever a mortal mind is driven by curiosity to understand and exploit the forces of nature. He embodies the drive to achieve technological perfection, and the motivations between his own sphere of influence and the Machine Cult of the Adeptus Mechanicus are disturbingly aligned. Although similar to Be’lakor in that both are demigods, Vashtorr is not a Daemon Prince and is not beholden to any of the four Dark Gods. In contrast to other beings of the Warp, Vashtorr is unflinchingly direct in his communications and pacts. He says what he wants and the terms by which his power is shared are direct and to the point. He is the essence of an engineer. The big, big change here is that putting units into Strategic Reserves is now free. This compounds some of the impacts that the changes to army construction have by ensuring that players can afford to spend even more of their CP on upgrades or stratagems, and helping make Lords of War less of a risky inclusion in your list; if you see a wall of Leman Russes on the other side of the table, and don’t trust the dice gods to give you the first turn, just stash your big toy in Strategic Reserves for free. This feels like a great change that should finally let this mechanic properly shine, and encourages people to do more interesting things with their Command Points.Wherever Commander Dante strikes, his loyal Sanguinary Guard are never far behind. Dazzle your foes with dice rolls using this set of 15 metallic gold dice with red pips that feature the Blood Angels Chapter icon on the 6 face. Vashtorr the Arkifane Arks of Omen Vashtorr focuses on a few factions, adding special rules and list-building options for the following: Additional rules for using four factions in Boarding Actions – Leagues of Votann, Thousand Sons, Adeptus Custodes, and Agents of the Imperium Speaking of enhancements, the standout is probably Alien Regality , which increases the range of your auras and Meticulous Planner abilities by 3”. It may not be flashy, but that extra range is very useful for getting your abilities around those pesky walls and corners. Then again, if you’re looking for flashy, look no further than Instinctive Counterstrike , which allows a unit within 9” of your Warlord to heroically intervene up to 6”. This is, unfortunately, very situational given that you have to be able to see your target unit to intervene on them, but could be very nasty when that situation shows up.
