While Prime is seen as a better alternative to other hydration drinks as it has no added sugar, the bulk of its popularity likely comes from the YouTube superstars. Why is it so hard to get a hold of?

An Aldi press release read: "The drink will be a Specialbuy – and as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!"The drink comes in 11 flavours, including blue raspberry, lemon lime, orange, tropical punch, ice pop and grape. Prime is a sports drink that was launched earlier this year, created and marketed by Prime Hydration. Shoppers were pictured queuing outside Aldi stores at 6am on Thursday in an attempt to secure it, with one parent posting on the Facebook group Aldi UK Shoppers: “Queuing for a hour already all for Prime. What we do for kids.”

In a joint statement, the pair said: "We created PRIME to showcase what happens when rivals come together as brothers and business partners to fill the void where great taste meets function." The drink has seen massive popularity due to Paul and KSI promoting it heavily, particularly around celebrity boxing events. They came up for the idea for the company after their own bout in 2019. According to supplier Congo Brand, Prime contains 2g of sugar, 25 calories, 250mg of BCAA's, 830 mg of electrolytes, plus vitamins and antioxidants. This may vary by flavour. It does not contain any caffeine. It is made up mostly of water, along with coconut water and added vitamins and minerals. It has zero sugar and around 20 calories per bottle.

Prime was launched by Olajide Olatunji - better known as KSI - and Logan Paul, alongside supplier and distributor Congo Brands.
