About this deal

To keep the bezel thinner, Samsung moved the dual speakers from the front (where they are on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1) to the sides on the Tab 3 10.1. Because the speakers sit on the upper third of the design, we didn't accidentally muffle the sound when blasting The Killers' dance mix of "Mr. Brightside." Overall, audio was loud and fairly well-balanced given this slate's slim profile, making games like "Minion Rush" more enjoyable. In January 2014, Samsung announced that it would release a special edition called Galaxy Tab for Education, starting in April. This special edition features support and features for the K-12 education sector. Among additional specs, Samsung have given it NFC. a b Smith, Mat (24 June 2013). Just by comparing Samsung's and Apple's lineup, you can see two very different strategies at play - while Apple relies on the exclusivity of their devices and content to garner interest in their products, Samsung instead hopes to cater to every possible market segment under the sun - and has been immensely successful in the process.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 - Technical Overview

The camera app includes a few settings you can tweak, including exposure, Timer, resolution and Gridlines (on/off). The Tab 3 10.1 fell behind the Nexus 10 on some graphics tests. The slate scored 6,203 on 3DMark Ice Storm, compared to 7,853 for Google's tablet. Samsung's device notched 3,542 on the more demanding 3DMark Extreme, versus 5,441 for the Nexus 10. a b "Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch 3G & WiFi – Tech Specs". Samsung UAE. Like most of its Galaxy stablemates, the Tab 3 10.1 features robust multimedia support and a built-in IR-emitter for controlling an array of home entertainment devices. For video, you get MP4, H.264, DivX, Xvid, and WMV files at up to 1080p resolution. For audio you get MP3, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WAV, and WMA support. The IR emitter works with both the Samsung WatchON app and the Peel Smart Remote app, letting you browse local listings, but falling short of scheduling recordings on DVR boxes. Still, it's a useful feature that makes the tablet a solid living room companion. a b Beavis, Gareth (3 June 2013). "Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Will Debut on July 7". TechRadar . Retrieved 6 August 2013.

To further test the Tab 3 10.1, we compared it with the new Tab 3 10.1, which features Samsung's own 1.5-GHz Exynos 4 CPU. The larger Intel-powered slate took 24 seconds to fully load the "Minion Rush" game, versus 14 seconds for the smaller Exynos-powered device.

a b "Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch 4G/LTE – Tech Specs". Samsung UAE. Archived from the original on 5 October 2013 . Retrieved 21 November 2013. On Geekbench, which measures overall performance, the Tab 3 10.1 scored 1,223. That showing is far below that on the Nexus 10 (Exynos 5 dual-core processor), which scored 2,464. However, the Intel-powered Tab 3 10.1 scored a fairly high 6,153 on Quadrant, which measures CPU, graphics and I/O performance. This beats the Nexus 10 (4,467) and Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 (4,897). In our battery test, which loops a video with screen brightness set to maximum and Wi-Fi switched on, the Tab 3 10.1 lasted 4 hours, 45 minutes. That's pretty bad, as it's even worse than the Nexus 10's 5 hours, 9 minutes, and that tablet has a power-hungry high resolution display. On top of that, despite disabling all power saver features, the Tab 3 10.1 curiously turned the brightness down to unusable levels when the battery reached 5 percent. The Asus Transformer Pad TF300, which has the same screen resolution, turned in 7 hours, 53 minutes on the same test. Given the rather modest spec, including a dual-core processor, compared to some quad-core-powered full-HD-screen-flaunting droid tablets, it's more fitting to look at the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 not as a high end device, but as a midranger with a large screen, aimed at a more price-conscious crowd. This goes in hand with a prominent trend of big screens in the midrange, like the Samsung Galaxy Grand and the Samsung Galaxy Mega. It is exactly tablets though, where Samsung have been struggling to match the kind of impact they've had in phones. The latest Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is in a way affected by the shifts in Samsung's tablet strategy. In an ideal world, the Galaxy 3 10.1 would've been the Koreans' flagship slate. But that position is already filled by the Note 10.1, with a successor possibly in the pipeline.

The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 comes with 16GB of built-in memory, 11.36GB of which is usable. You can also expand the storage to 64GB via a microSD Card. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 was released with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. In 2022 it still ran perfectly on LineageOS 14.1 ( Android 7.1.2). Samsung has customized the interface with its TouchWiz Nature UX software. As well as apps from Google, including Google Play, Gmail and YouTube, it has access to Samsung apps such as ChatON, S Suggest, S Voice, Smart Remote (Peel) and All Share Play. [3] On the plus side, the Tab 3 10.1 registered an average brightness of 444 lux on our light meter, which is higher than both the Nexus 10 (376 lux) and Transformer Pad (433 lux). Though it wasn't as sharp as we would have liked, an HD trailer for "2 Guns" looked bright and colorful as Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington wrestled in the sand. There has been some controversy surrounding the AnTuTu benchmark, because an earlier version of the test apparently caused a false boost for Intel's Atom chip. The company has since revised its benchmark, which measures memory, CPU, graphics, SD Card read/write and database I/O performance. The Tab 3 10.1 scored 19,997 on this test, compared with 13,722 for the Nexus 10.

The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is available in WiFi-only, 3G& Wi-Fi, and 4G/ LTE& WiFi variants. Storage ranges from 16 GB to 32 GB depending on the model, with a microSDXC card slot for expansion. It has a 10.1-inch WXGA TFT screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixel. It also features a 1.3 MP front camera without flash and 3.15 MP rear-facing camera. It also has the ability to record HD videos. [5] [6] [7] Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Review: Feels Like 2012, Looks Dull, Only Audio Impresses (Video) | Tablet News".
