About this deal

Villa Construction The upright side walls of the Vango Earth tents, increase the height within the tent, enabling happy campers to fully maximise the internal space. The new Vango Osiris Air 500, 5-man tent is an inflatable AirBeam® tent within our new Earth Collection. The new collection launches our Sentinel Eco Fabric, made from recycled single use waste plastic. Key features include an extended living area, providing a spacious environment and both living room doors have mesh panels, which increases the airflow, whilst keeping the bugs out. Another feature is the covered entrance, preventing rain from entering the living area. Queen sized bedrooms, designed with a wider entrance, with no step over into the bedroom and the Nightfall inners are designed to reduce early morning light. Thanks to the groundsheet, outer and sleeping compartments all being connected, all you need to do to pitch the tent is pump up the poles and peg out a couple of guylines.

While not designed for the worst possible conditions, the 2,000mm water-resistant polyester flysheet has taped seams and will laugh in the face of rain, stay grounded in high winds, and provide an excellent shelter for a young family. Water although we’re surrounded by it isn’t an infinite resource, did you know that it takes an estimated 20,000 litres of water make a pair of jeans and a T-Shirt? That’s a lot of water, and I’m not trying to be harbinger doom but when you read ‘With the existing climate change scenario, by 2030, water scarcity in some arid and semi-arid places will displace between 24 million and 700 million people’, it’s not difficult to determine that adjustments need to be made.

Fully sewn-in groundsheet A bug and draught-free environment is created by this seam, adding to the comfort of all campers. The groundsheet is attached to the flysheet with an external strom skirt to provide all round protection. Villa Construction - Upright side walls increase the height within the tent allowing you to fully maximise the internal space

We love the open design and think it will appeal to romantic glampers who will appreciate the classic hobbit house aesthetic, but who also understand the benefit of the mosquito nets, decent headroom, 150cm door height and rain-deflecting canopy. Over the next few months, we’re going to be showing you the entire range and hopefully get out in some of them (when we’re allowed out camping), so you can get a feel for them from indoors.

Inflatable AirBeam® Structure - With 10 years’ experience in AirBeam® technology, we are the leaders in pole free pitching. AirBeam® technology ensures your tent is erect within a matter of minutes, creating a strong and rigid structure allowing you peace of mid and more time to enjoy your holiday (Supplied with double action pump) Where some people might expect a greater degree of divergence in performance level is in stormy weather, with many people perhaps predicting that air tents might not be so robust. However, we spent a wild windy weekend testing out both styles of tent, and found that the Osiris Air 500 performed just as well as the Aether 450 pole tent, not least because it has internal bracing straps – one of the parts of a tent many won't be familiar with – that help it maintain its shape even in gusty conditions. These do impede on the internal space somewhat, but they are optional, and don’t need to stay in place when conditions are more benign, giving you more room for things like your camping chairs once more. King Pole Front Door - Increase the external space of your tent with the addition of king poles to create a sun-canopy The Vango Earth Collection is a wonderful addition to Outdoor Industry, it’s great to see something that is a blight on the health of the planet being used in a positive way. With the tag sustainability usually comes a large price tag, and Vango have managed to keep the Earth Collection affordable and within the reach of most people. That said, I’m not asking you to throw out your gear and replace it with the Earth collection, that would be counterproductive. If you do plan on buying some new gear in the coming season, then do please consider buying something from Vango Earth Collection.
