About this deal

The series currently comprises four full-length novels, four novellas and one short story. A fifth full-length novel entitled The Radius of the Lost Shark is being planned. [1] These books are aimed at a younger readership than Horowitz's young adult novels, such as the Alex Rider series and The Power of Five series. While also having a teenage protagonist and featuring guns, fights, international criminals, and numerous character deaths, The Diamond Brothers series has a more humorous slant through the use of puns, pop culture references and absurd situations. The show we were due to be performing when the pandemic closed the theatres finally hit the road! Another instalment in our hugely popular ‘Crimes…’ series of comedy thrillers. Crimes, Camera, Action whisked the audience to golden-era Hollywood and introduced a new lead detective, a world-weary, hard-boiled private-eye in the mould of Humphrey Bogart: meet Stan Shakespeare. We will be announcing its new home soon, 2020 plans were derailed slightly. But hopefully you can join us for a festive family island escape next December! Crimes On The Coast

The Fat Man was a rival of the Falcon (real name Henry von Falkenberg) but he was greedy and wanted his money. He plotted how to get his money. The Falcon had hidden his money away in capital cities in safes, in the form of diamonds, and the Fat Man was especially interested in London safe because it was the biggest sum. in association with Newbury Corn Exchange, Theatre Royal Bath's egg, & The Natural Theatre Company)

The show has toured the country twice with a spectacular sell-out success on its 2018 national tour, (under previous title Crimes Under the Sun), repeated in autumn 2019. Crimes On the Coast is a comedy thriller directed by James Farrell (Associate Director - The 39 Steps, West End). The show features four actors playing multiple outrageous characters, and a plot that romps along in the our now trademark inventive style. Anthony Horowitz himself says “(The script) stays very true to the fun and the adventure of the story, presenting the myriad characters with just four young actors and a huge amount of inventiveness. In fact, it’s an object lesson in the power of the theatre.” New Old Friends are a multi award-winning company who create theatre with a desire to entertain the largest audience possible. Inspired by Agatha Christie, Noel Coward and PG Wodehouse, you are invited on an hilarious but murderous trip to a classic English Riviera retreat. Renowned as one of the best family shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2014 and 2015, The Falcon’s Malteser has played sell-out performances on two UK tours. Now, the much-loved show is coming to similarly thrill London audiences.

The case? A suspicious screen starlet is stabbed on set setting in motion a typically fast-paced and hilarious chain of events that sees a cast of four exceptional comic actors take on multiple roles, sometimes within the same scene.

The company were also a finalist in the Arts Organisation category at both the Creative Bath Awards and the Bath Life Awards every year between 2017 and 2022. If you would like more information on any of the shows below please don't hesitate to get in touch. An ace of a show you’re sure to (fifteen) love. Expect mirth, murder and mayhem (with a side of tennis) in this deucey treat. The pandemic has been awful in so many ways. For us at New Old Friends, it postponed/cancelled three tours and meant we couldn't present a Christmas show for the first time in years. But at the end of 2020 we were determined to present something to our audiences. The result was an audio version of Crimes Against Christmas released daily from 1st - 24th December as a comedy advent calendar. The promotional blurbs of the early 2004 editions of the Alex Rider novel Scorpia, and of an early edition of Three of Diamonds claimed that Horowitz was planning an Australian-based adventure for the Diamond Brothers, entitled The Radius of the Lost Shark (a play-on-words on the film title Raiders of the Lost Ark). This title was also mentioned in a promotional blurb at the end of early 2005 edition of the Alex Rider novel Ark Angel, and again in the introduction to the re-issued 2007 edition of Three of Diamonds. It proved to be very popular, charting at 2 in the Apple iTunes Fiction chart, inside the top 200 overall podcast charts, was featured on BBC Radio 4's Front Row, was named as one of the Top 42 Christmas shows by the i Paper, and even won an OnComm Award. But the most rewarding was seeing the number of listeners and lovely comments from the audience. murder, mayhem and laugh-out-loud comedy. Even has echoes of those word-play specialists The Two Ronnies" - The Stage
