got a george foreman grill thingy, but i want to put an inline switch on it (like a lamp switch) the only way to turn the grill on and off is on the mains where the plug goes... - is it possible to fit a switch half-way down the cable to enable me to use that to turn it on and off?? if so, anyone know what they are called, and where from?? What you should do is run a 2.5mm T&E cable from the distribution board. But that's easier said than done. There are holes or “blinds” where holes can easily be made, so that the cable can enter the box (see grommets below). They come in a range of depths, so it is important to ensure that when changing a face plate that the new one will fit. The width will be determined by the number of gangs or plugs that can be plugged in at once. Face Plate Haven't you realised that gender discrimination is not allowed any more? Good heavens the next thing you'll be asking is their sexual orientation or, heaven help us, their ethniticity. Pattress – This is the box that contains the parts of the light switch.
