About this deal

Using an iPad Pro to send music to both speakers over a Bluetooth connection, the G10 delivers a punchier performance that leaves the A10 sounding lightweight by comparison. The G10 sounds bigger and describes music with more weight. Living with the app is a slightly different proposition, though. In some ways it’s simple –‘drag and drop’ to partner or separate speakers, either in stereo pairs or multi-room zones, and tweak the bass and treble at your leisure. But it can be a little buggy, and is certainly limited compared to most rival systems. Just like your Wi-Fi, cellphone, and other wireless signals, Bluetooth range and performance can vary depending a number of factors. All smartphones and tablets aren’t created equal, so be aware that the following can have varying influence on your Bluetooth connection quality – Walls It doesn’t produce a particularly wide soundstage. However, there were plenty of times where I’d stopped what I was doing and just listen. No matter where I placed the speaker, so long as it was facing outwards, it sounded great. It handles vocals better, too, and it strikes a fuller, more textured tone with Regina Spektor’s voice in her cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, whereas the A10 is thinner in its description.

The Play:5 comes with 3 tweezers, and that provides incredible sound throw and impressive bass. The sound quality of Play:5 is not in question at all. Like every other Sonos speaker, the Sonos Play:5 is pretty simple. It can also be kept horizontally or vertically, and it adjusts to the internal processing accordingly, making it the smartest among the smart speakers. As it has six internal antennas, the wifi and Bluetooth connectivity are at par. Also, it compatible with Airplay 2 and various voice control assistants as well. The presence of stereo speakers makes it one step ahead of C10. Also, it comes with a mute function; you usually don’t find it in many speakers. These are limited to optical and analogue auxiliary - though with a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable included, connecting to pretty much any existing set up could hardly be easier. However, selecting the two of them would be a tough call as both are good at providing what they are built for i.e., superb sound quality. Final VerdictThough there is a pair of unknown quantities in the Audio Pro line-up as far as we’re concerned – the Addon C-Sub can help those smaller speakers delve deeper into the low frequencies, while the A40 is set to receive a wider release following its design for the company’s 40th anniversary– our time spent with the rest of the company’s speakers allows us to confidently celebrate it as the best-sounding multi-room suite available for the money. Moreover, you can use it as a wired as well as wireless speaker with the help of Wifi, Bluetooth, and Audio Pro Multiroom app. Like most Sonos speakers, it can also be mounted on the wall. They time with metronomic precision, but temper it with the kind of dynamic sense that captures rhythmic emphasis nicely. And that dynamic expression is a strong positive over the speakers’ entire performance, able to reflect lavish shifts and subtle nuance alike. It simply does everything right, and without fuss. Surprise successes and disappointing flops have been revealed in our recent months of audio testing. Plus some remarkable trends have developed, with some lesser-known and unheard-of brands excelling in our expert lab tests while duds from the big-brand competition have become more prevalent. At a single glance, Audio Pro speakers look very bulky and spacious that serves as a huge turnoff. However, if you love your speakers to have that traditional touch like Audio Pro C5A, looks won’t be an issue for you.

The A10 marks a departure from the rest of Audio Pro’s wireless speaker line-up in terms of it design.

So, about that Connect/Reset button. It’s a small change that has a significant impact. The Connect button on the A10 enabled the speaker to join Audio Pro’s web of connected speakers. With Google onboard, that’s no longer possible. All four speakers house a large circular volume control flanked by sets of four smaller buttons on the top: for power-on, play/pause, input selection and Bluetooth pairing to the left, and pre-sets to its right. The increased power and driver and cabinet size predictably ushers a grander performance each step you take up the chain, with the Addon C10 particularly able to rattle trinkets from the mantelpiece or twist our insides with its low-end authority.

The usual connections, wired and wireless, are featured, with the A10 having capacity for 3.5mm aux, Bluetooth 4.0, Apple AirPlay, wi-fi andSpotify Connect. It also supports MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC and Apple Lossless formats. Buttons are located on the speakers’ top plate – there’s no remote included – and these have also been tweaked. Their placement has shifted towards the middle, with the Audio Pro logo now assigned towards the bottom. Audio Pro A10 is a fairer model to compare with Sonos One as they both have the same cylindrical design, none like the usual designs of the Audio Pro C series. It has the nearly priced same as Sonos one as well.On top of the sub is the second part of the Drumfire’s set-up, containing two 11cm woofers and a 25mm tweeter. This box has an RCA input for an external analogue source, as well as an ethernet port and 3.5mm input. But it’s important to point out the Audio Pro is far from the most limited multi-room app out there, and its occasional bug and rudimentary nature is forgivable when you consider the price and sound quality of the speakers it's controlling. Rivals appear in Apple’s HomePod, which is considerably more expensive and restricted to Apple’s ring-fencing but Apple fans won’t mind that. Unsurprisingly, that’s one of the first things that jumps out when we switch the A10 on. We love the directness of its siblings, but the versatility and sheer spread of sound here is to be admired. It doesn’t have quite the unwavering focus, nor the sheer weight in the low end, but we can move around our test room and still be treated to the same high quality sound. Below we've analysed the scores of all Alexa and Google Assistant speakers we've tested to find out whether Alexa or Google Assistant speakers are the best to go for. We've found that while the best Alexa and Google Assistant speakers have similar scores, the average quality of Google Assistant speakers in our tests are considerably higher.

We compare our Alexa and Google Assistant speaker scores to see which voice assistant is currently built in to the best products. Sized and shaped like an ashtray, the Link 1’s duties are to collect song selections from the app, connecting to your home network via either wi-fi or its ethernet input, and dispense via whichever output you have selected. This is yet another legit comparison to make to find out if the price difference between them should make you go with Audio Pro C3 or not.The bugs are neither constant nor devastating, but the odd stutter and hang – particularly when pairing or splitting speakers – gets annoying in a short time. The Audio Pro G10 shares the same driver set-up as the A10 with its 1.25-inch BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) and 3-inch woofer. My presumption was it would sound fairly similar, but Audio Pro has tuned the G10 to wring out a better performance, particularly with vocals. The A10 joins a growing trend of wireless speakers that have ambitions of meshing stylish design and great sound. With the wireless speaker market becoming a popular and crowded one, the A10 pokes its head above most of the rest with a strong offering. Price and availability If that doesn’t bother you, going for Audio Pro speakers that less price than Sonos speakers is a good deal to start with. However, when it comes to multiroom-audio speakers, Sonos is still on the top and enjoying its monopoly along with the quality it provides. Both sport a cylindrical shape, and like the A10, the G10’s small footprint helps with positioning the unit. Given it has a trailing mains cable and no built-in battery, it will be restricted a little in the number of places it can reach, however. Bookshelves, tables and generally low-reaching shelves should be fine. That said, the power cable is decently long on its own.
