After painting with chalk paint, it is advisable to keep the painted item indoors for at least 4 days to allow it to dry. How To Protect Chalk Paint Outside?Using the chalk paint outside exposes it to UV rays, water, and other elements. This can damage the painting if left unprotected. Remember that chalk paint is water-resistant and not waterproof. Meaning that it can only resist water damage for a while. Let the first coat to dry as instructed and apply a second coat using the same procedure. Remove the painter’s tape and let the product dry and cure as instructed.
