About this deal

PR Sample, kindly provided by a brand or shop – I am not obligated to write this blog article, was not paid for the article, and my opinions are entirely my own.

Bobi, normally I would agree with you but retinol is one of the exceptions. It works well even at <1% concentrations. In fact, 1% is already huge when it comes to retinol and should be used only by people with resilient skin who have build resistance to it. Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule contains another of my favourite ingredients: niacinamide.

TRIPLE FERMENTED: First we extreme ferment, then warm ferment, then ferment again at cold temperatures, and then finally extract using a low-temp, high-pressure process. The result is a highly concentrated pure, potent extract. The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X is – as the name suggests – the fifth generation of their night ampoule, and the formula has been thoroughly updated, upgraded and perfected. For me, it is the first time using this K-beauty classic, and as you can probably guess, I have all sorts of feelings and thoughts around this anti aging megastar. So, onwards to the full review! Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X – the Basics The oil-soluble extract coming from the edible, orange part of the carrot. It is created bymacerating the carrot root in a carrier oil such as sunflower or olive oil, and the resulting thing (base oil + carrot root extract) is often called carrot oil or carrot root oil. (Not to be confused with carrot seed oil, that can be fixed or essential and comes from the seeds.) To me, Missha remains one of the most underrated large name K-brands in the West – I once heard a (non-Korean) influencer in their 20s dismissively call them an “ajumma brand” ( ajumma being the Korean name for “older woman” or “married woman”), meaning it’s for boring old women and not fun young guys advertising on YouTube, I guess?! See, this is one of those things I find problematic about the skincare community as a whole, the way we dismiss Korean skincare products aimed at women aged 30+ or even, gasp, 40+. I guess it’s because mostly younger influencers are famous for promoting skincare right now? Missha is a great brand, not just for “ajummas” like me, I promise, and their Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X has stood the test of time for very good reasons! Research also shows that it might be useful for wound healing as it promotes fibroblast (nice type of cells in our skin that produce skin-firming collagen) proliferation.

Another advantage of squalane is that it is pretty much compatible with all skin types and skin conditions. It isexcellent for acne-prone skin and safe to use even if you have fungi-related skin issues, likeseborrhea or fungal acne. So I introduced this Missha serum into my evening routine, which has been mainly about soothing and moisturizing for quite some time now. P.S. If you’re new to it, retinol can irritate and dry out your skin. Use it a couple of times a week to begin with and increase frequency overtime.

I'm continuing my sunscreen journey, and this time, we're jetting off to the land of the rising sun. Today, I'm discussing Japanese sunscreens. If you're looking for ... Super common little helper ingredient thathelps products to remain nice and stable for a longer time. It does so by neutralizing the metal ions in the formula (that usually get into there from water) that would otherwise cause some not so nice changes. Extreme Biome: Made up of 10 different types of probiotics that are put through a fermentation process to extract, preserve, and enhance the skin. It energizes and uplifts the skin, improving all aspects of its appearance including vibrancy, clarity, and transparency. The 10 probiotic ingredients in this product are: Bifida Ferment Lysate, Lactobacillus Ferment, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate, Bifida Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus / Acerola Cherry Ferment, Lactobacillus / Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract (note: Punica Granatum Fruit is pomegranate), Lactobacillus / Soybean Ferment Extract, Lactococcus Ferment Extract, Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, and Leuconostoc / Radish Root Ferment FiltratePersonally, I never had the opportunity to test the previous formulas of this product. The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Repair Probio Ampoule serum is the first version I’m trying. So I’m not going to be able to compare it with the older versions.

It's also loaded with fatty acids(mostly linoleic (50-74%) and oleic (14-35%)). The unrefined version(be sure to use that on your skin!) is especially high in linoleic acid that is great even for acne-prone skin. Its comedogen index is 0, meaning that it's pretty much an all skin-type oil. It's one of the important lipids that can be found naturally in the outer layer of the skin. About 25% of the goopy stuff between our skin cells consists of cholesterol. Together with ceramides and fatty acids, they play a vital role in having a healthy skin barrier and keeping the skin hydrated.
